get_collection_assets

Read-onlyIdempotent

List the assets inside one Content Browser collection by name and share type, excluding child collections. Read-only; returns asset paths and count for managing collection membership.

Instructions

List the object paths of the assets directly in one Content Browser collection (child collections are not included), without changing anything. The collection is looked up by collection_name within share_type, default Local; an unrecognized share_type also falls back to Local, and a name not found under that share type is an error. get_collections lists every collection with its share_type. Returns assets and asset_count; change membership with add_asset_to_collection or remove_asset_from_collection.

Returns: { collection_name: string, share_type: string, assets: [string], asset_count: number }

TDQS

A4.6/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnly/idempotent/non-destructive, and the description adds substantive behavior: default share_type Local, fallback to Local for an unrecognized share_type, and an error when the name isn't found. It doesn't mention result ordering or pagination, leaving a minor gap.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Dense and front-loaded, with the key scope constraint first. There is mild redundancy between 'Returns assets and asset_count' and the explicit 'Returns: {...}' line, but nothing is wasted overall.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description supplies the full return shape plus error and default behavior. An agent has everything needed to invoke it correctly and interpret the result.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description goes beyond the schema by explaining that collection_name is resolved within share_type and how share_type defaults and falls back. This adds real lookup semantics not present in the property descriptions.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource: 'List the object paths of the assets directly in one Content Browser collection'. It also scopes precisely by noting 'child collections are not included', which distinguishes it from related collection tools.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly routes the agent: get_collections is named for listing collections, and add_asset_to_collection / remove_asset_from_collection are named for changing membership. When-to-use and when-not-to-use are both covered.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
