create_sound_submix

Creates or loads a USoundSubmix asset at a given path and saves it, ready for adding effects to its chain.

Instructions

Create an empty USoundSubmix asset at package_path/name, or load the one already there, and save it. Returns asset_path, created, already_exists and saved; add effects with add_submix_effect_to_chain and read them with get_submix_effect_chain.

Returns: { name: string, package_path: string, asset_path: string, asset_class: string, created: bool, already_exists: bool, saved: bool }

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare the safety profile (readOnlyHint=false, destructiveHint=false, openWorldHint=false). The description adds real value beyond that: the operation is create-or-load (not a failure if the asset exists) and it saves the package. The non-idempotency claimed in annotations is consistent with the description re-saving on each call, so there is no contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Two tight sentences with the core action front-loaded and follow-up tools named at the end. Mild redundancy: the return fields are listed inline ('Returns asset_path, created, already_exists and saved') and then repeated in a full Returns block, which costs a little space without adding information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema exists, and the description compensates by enumerating the returned fields (name, package_path, asset_path, asset_class, created, already_exists, saved), so an agent knows what to expect. Safety is covered by annotations and parameters by the schema, leaving nothing critical missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% with only two parameters, so the schema already documents name and package_path including the /Game/Audio default. The description restates the package_path/name composition but adds no format or validation details beyond that. Baseline 3 is appropriate when the schema carries the load.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource (create a USoundSubmix asset) plus the create-or-load-and-save semantics, which is more than the name conveys. It also names the sibling tools for the next steps (add_submix_effect_to_chain, get_submix_effect_chain), so an agent can place it in the workflow without opening another schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context (empty submix asset creation, with follow-up tools for effects) but does not say when to prefer this over the sibling submix creators such as create_soundfield_submix or create_sound_mix. No explicit exclusions or prerequisites are stated.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
