List Permission Templates For A Company User

list_permission_templates_for_a_company_user
Read-onlyIdempotent

List permission templates for a company user. Returns templates of projects the user is assigned to, with pagination and filtering support.

Instructions

This endpoint returns the list of Permission Templates for the specified User. This includes the templates of Projects that the User is currently assigned to. Use this to enumerate Directory records when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Directory records. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: company_id, user_id. Procore API: Core > Directory. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/companies/{company_id}/users/{user_id}/project_assignments/filter_options/permission_templates

Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already provide readOnlyHint and idempotentHint. The description adds behavioral context about pagination (use page and per_page, response includes pagination metadata), which is not in annotations. No contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is concise and well-structured, front-loading the purpose. Every sentence adds value without redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given the medium complexity (list endpoint, no output schema), the description is complete. It includes the return type (paginated JSON array), pagination details, and required parameters.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%. The description adds meaning by explaining the purpose of page and per_page for pagination and listing required parameters. It does not add syntax details beyond schema, but provides context.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states it returns a list of permission templates for a specific user, including projects they are assigned to. The verb 'returns' and resource 'Permission Templates for the specified User' are specific and unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description provides some usage guidance ('Use this to enumerate Directory records when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters'), but does not explicitly mention when not to use it or suggest alternative tools among the many siblings.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
