Bulk Create Action Plan Test Record Requests

bulk_create_action_plan_test_record_requests

Create multiple action plan test record requests for a project in a single API call, with per-item status checks to manage partial failures.

Instructions

Bulk Create Action Plan Test Record Requests. Use this to create many Action Plans records in a single request. Creates many Action Plans records in one request and returns the created collection (HTTP 201). Partial failures may occur — check each item's status. Required parameters: project_id, plan_test_record_requests. Procore API: Project Management > Action Plans. Endpoint: POST /rest/v1.0/projects/{project_id}/action_plans/plan_test_record_requests/bulk_create

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
project_idYesURL path parameter — unique identifier for the project.
completion_modeNoQuery string parameter — whether to update what can be or nothing if one can not be updated. Defaults to "all_or_nothing"
plan_test_record_requestsYesJSON request body field — plan_test_record_requests
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations indicate readOnlyHint=false and destructiveHint=false, consistent with a create operation. The description adds value by noting partial failures and returning HTTP 201, which is beyond what annotations provide. No contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is three sentences, front-loading the purpose and usage, and including all key information (purpose, partial failure, required params, API context) without any unnecessary detail.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

The description covers purpose, usage, required parameters, partial failure, and return status. However, it omits guidance on the format of the array items in 'plan_test_record_requests', which would be helpful given the schema lacks item type details. Otherwise complete for a bulk creation tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% with basic descriptions for each parameter. The description lists required parameters but does not clarify the array item structure for 'plan_test_record_requests', which has an undefined type in the schema. The added value over the schema is minimal.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states it creates Action Plan Test Record Requests in bulk, using a specific verb and resource. It distinguishes from sibling single-create tools like 'create_action_plan_test_record_request' by emphasizing bulk creation.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description explicitly says 'Use this to create many Action Plans records in a single request' and warns about partial failures. It implies that for single records, the alternative non-bulk tool should be used, but does not explicitly exclude scenarios or list prerequisites.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
