List Of Company-Level Emails

list_of_company_level_emails
Read-onlyIdempotent

Retrieve a paginated list of company-level emails filtered by topic type and topic ID. Use to find email IDs or overview communications.

Instructions

Return a list of emails for company-level communications. Use this to enumerate Emails when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Emails. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: company_id, topic_type, topic_id. Procore API: Project Management > Emails. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/companies/{company_id}/email_communications/emails

Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations indicate read-only, non-destructive, idempotent, and open-world. The description adds that it returns a paginated JSON array with metadata, which provides useful behavioral context beyond annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is three front-loaded sentences covering purpose, usage, pagination, and API endpoint. It is concise though the API path is slightly extraneous.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

The description covers pagination and required params, but lacks detail on how topic_type and topic_id filter results. Given schema descriptions are minimal, this is a gap. Still adequate for basic use.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so baseline 3. The description explains the purpose of page and per_page (pagination control) and lists required parameters, adding value over the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states the tool returns a list of company-level emails, with specific use cases like paginated overview, finding IDs, or filtering. It differentiates by specifying 'company-level' but does not explicitly distinguish from sibling tools.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description says when to use (for enumerating emails, paginated overview, filtering) and lists required parameters. However, it lacks explicit guidance on when not to use or alternatives, leaving some ambiguity.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
