List Company Checklist Template Sections

list_company_checklist_template_sections
Read-onlyIdempotent

Retrieve a paginated list of sections for a specific checklist template using company ID and template ID.

Instructions

Returns a collection of Checklist Sections for a specified Checklist Template. Use this to enumerate Inspections when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Inspections. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: company_id, list_template_id. Procore API: Project Management > Inspections. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/companies/{company_id}/checklist/list_templates/{list_template_id}/sections

Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already indicate readOnly, idempotent. Description adds that it returns a paginated JSON array with pagination metadata, and mentions the HTTP method and endpoint. This provides useful behavioral context beyond annotations, though it incorrectly says 'Inspections'.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Description is four sentences, efficiently covering purpose, usage, returns, and API details. However, the incorrect mention of 'Inspections' wastes a sentence and could cause confusion. Otherwise well-structured.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema, so description should clarify return structure. It mentions paginated JSON array and metadata but doesn't describe what a section object contains. Also the inconsistency with 'Inspections' hurts completeness. Adequate but not fully covering all context.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, baseline 3. Description adds context by stating required parameters and explaining pagination usage ('Use page and per_page to control pagination'), enhancing schema info.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose3/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states it returns Checklist Sections for a template but then twice says 'enumerate Inspections' which is inconsistent. The purpose is somewhat muddled, reducing clarity. It does specify the resource and action, but the incorrect object undermines it.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides generic usage advice like 'to find IDs' and 'filter by query parameters', but no explicit when-to-use vs alternatives. Sibling tools exist (e.g., list_company_checklist_sections) but are not mentioned. Guidance is minimal.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
