List Of Project Action Plan Templates

list_of_project_action_plan_templates
Read-onlyIdempotent

Retrieve a paginated list of action plan templates for a project. Filter by ID, type, or date range to locate specific templates.

Instructions

List of Project Action Plan Templates. Use this to enumerate Action Plans when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Action Plans. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: project_id. Procore API: Project Management > Action Plans. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/projects/{project_id}/action_plans/plan_templates

Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already provide readOnlyHint=true, destructiveHint=false, idempotentHint=true. Description adds that it returns a paginated JSON array with metadata, consistent with read-only; no contradiction but adds minimal new behavioral context.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Description is 4 sentences, front-loaded with purpose and usage. Each sentence serves a function; no redundancy. Slightly verbose at the end with API endpoint reference, but overall efficient.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema, so description should provide more detail on response structure. It mentions 'paginated JSON array of Action Plans' and 'pagination metadata,' but lacks specifics about the Action Plan object fields or metadata keys. Adequate but not thorough.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so baseline is 3. Description adds context about pagination control and response metadata, but does not significantly enhance parameter understanding beyond schema descriptions.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Description clearly states 'List of Project Action Plan Templates' and elaborates with 'enumerate Action Plans' for paginated overview, ID finding, and filtering. It distinguishes from sibling tools like list_company_action_plan_templates by requiring project_id.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

States when to use: for paginated overview, finding IDs, or filtering. Implies project context via required project_id, but does not explicitly exclude alternatives or mention company-level templates.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
