List Company WBS Segment Item Lists

list_company_wbs_segment_item_lists
Read-onlyIdempotent

List WBS segment item lists for a company and segment. Use pagination to browse records and filter by query parameters to find specific IDs.

Instructions

List Segment Item Lists for a specific segment. Use this to enumerate Work Breakdown Structure records when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Work Breakdown Structure records. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: company_id, segment_id. Procore API: Construction Financials > Work Breakdown Structure. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/companies/{company_id}/work_breakdown_structure/segments/{segment_id}/lists

Input Schema

company_idYesURL path parameter — unique identifier for the company.
segment_idYesURL path parameter — unique identifier of the segment
pageNoPage number for paginated results (default: 1)
per_pageNoNumber of items per page (default: 100, max: 100)
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already provide readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, and openWorldHint. The description adds value by stating the tool returns a paginated JSON array with pagination metadata, and it specifies the exact endpoint and API area (Construction Financials > Work Breakdown Structure). No contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with purpose and use cases. It is reasonably concise (about 5 sentences), but could be slightly tighter by merging some statements. Overall, it efficiently communicates key information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

The description lacks an output schema, so it does not specify individual fields in the response beyond being a 'paginated JSON array'. Given the tool's moderate complexity (4 parameters, pagination) and no output schema, the description is adequate but incomplete for agents needing detailed response structure.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

The input schema covers 100% of parameters with descriptions, so the baseline is 3. The description reaffirms required parameters and pagination but adds no new semantic meaning beyond what the schema provides.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description explicitly states 'List Segment Item Lists for a specific segment' with a specific verb and resource. It also details use cases (paginated overview, find IDs, filter by query), distinguishing it from sibling tools like list_company_wbs_segments or list_company_segment_items.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description explains when to use the tool (enumerate WBS records, paginated overview, find IDs, filter) and mentions required parameters and pagination controls. However, it does not explicitly state when not to use it or contrast with alternative tools, which would be helpful given the many sibling tools.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
