List Checklist List Template Filter Options

list_checklist_list_template_filter_options_project_v1_0
Read-onlyIdempotent

List available filter options for inspection checklist templates in a paginated JSON array. Use to filter inspections or find template IDs by project.

Instructions

List Checklist List Template Filter Options. Use this to enumerate Inspections when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a JSON array of available filter values for Inspections. Required parameters: project_id. Procore API: Project Management > Inspections. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/projects/{project_id}/checklist/lists/filter_options/list_templates

Input Schema

per_pageNoNumber of items per page (default: 100, max: 100)
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already indicate readOnlyHint=true, idempotentHint=true, and destructiveHint=false. The description adds the return format (JSON array) and mentions pagination, but does not disclose additional behavioral traits beyond what annotations provide.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is concise with 3 sentences, but the first sentence unnecessarily repeats the title. Otherwise it is well-structured and front-loaded with key information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a simple list tool with no output schema, the description adequately explains the return type and required parameter. It lacks details about the specific filter values available but is sufficient given the tool's simplicity.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

All 3 parameters have descriptions in the input schema (100% coverage), so the description adds minimal value. It only reiterates that project_id is required.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states the tool lists checklist list template filter options and returns a JSON array of available filter values for Inspections. However, it does not differentiate from sibling tools like list_checklist_list_status_filter_options, which also list filter options.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear context for use: to enumerate Inspections for a paginated overview, to find IDs, or filter by query parameters. Does not include exclusions or alternatives, but the context is sufficient for the agent to decide when to invoke.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
