List Available RFI Prefix Stage Filter Options

list_available_rfi_prefix_stage_filter_options
Read-onlyIdempotent

Retrieve RFI prefix stage filter options for a project to enumerate records, find IDs, or filter by prefix stage.

Instructions

Returns all Filter Options for Prefix Stage defined by the project. Use this to enumerate RFI records when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a JSON array of available filter values for RFI records. Required parameters: project_id. Procore API: Project Management > RFI. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.0/projects/{project_id}/rfis/filter_options/prefix_stage_id

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
project_idYesURL path parameter — unique identifier for the project.
pageNoPage number for paginated results (default: 1)
per_pageNoNumber of items per page (default: 100, max: 100)
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, destructiveHint=false, and idempotentHint=true. The description adds minimal behavioral context beyond stating it returns a JSON array. No contradictions, but the description does not significantly enhance what annotations already provide.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences: first states return value, second gives usage context, third provides API endpoint details. Efficient and clear, though the API endpoint detail may be unnecessary for an AI agent. No filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a filter option list tool with good annotations, the description is sufficiently complete. It explains the tool's role in RFI filtering and mentions pagination. No output schema, but the return type is simple (JSON array). Adequate for accurate invocation.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Input schema has 100% coverage for 3 parameters. The description mentions the required project_id and implies pagination ('paginated overview'), but does not add substantial meaning beyond the schema. Baseline 3 is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states the tool returns 'all Filter Options for Prefix Stage' and provides specific use cases ('enumerate RFI records... paginated overview... find IDs... filter by query parameters'). It distinguishes itself from many sibling filter option tools by its specific focus on prefix stage.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description gives some context for when to use the tool ('when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters') but does not explicitly state when not to use it or mention alternatives among the many sibling filter option tools. This is adequate but not exemplary.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
