List Drawing Disciplines

list_drawing_disciplines
Read-onlyIdempotent

Retrieve a paginated list of drawing disciplines for a project. Filter by discipline ID and control page size to navigate results.

Instructions

List Drawing Disciplines. Use this to enumerate Drawings when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters. Returns a paginated JSON array of Drawings. Use page and per_page to control pagination; the response includes pagination metadata. Required parameters: project_id. Procore API (v1.1): Project Management > Drawings. Endpoint: GET /rest/v1.1/projects/{project_id}/drawing_disciplines

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema

project_idYesURL path parameter — unique identifier for the project.
filters__idNoQuery string parameter — filter by Drawing Disciplines ID To request specific drawing discipline ids add `filters[id]=[1,2,3]` to filters
viewNoQuery string parameter — specify response schema view
pageNoQuery string parameter — page number for paginated results (default: 1)
per_pageNoQuery string parameter — number of items per page (default: 100, max: 100)
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and idempotentHint=true. The description adds that it returns a paginated JSON array, explains pagination parameters, and includes the API endpoint. This provides useful behavioral context beyond the annotations, such as the return format and pagination metadata.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is concise, starting with the action, then usage, return type, parameter guidance, required parameter, and API reference. Every sentence adds value. No waste.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given the simple nature of the tool and the rich annotations and schema, the description covers the essential aspects: purpose, usage, pagination, required parameters, and API source. It does not explain return values (no output schema), but mentions the return type. It is complete enough for an AI agent.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the schema already describes all parameters. The description highlights page and per_page for pagination and project_id as required, but does not add significant meaning beyond what the schema provides. Baseline 3 is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly states 'List Drawing Disciplines' and describes its use for enumerating disciplines with pagination and filtering. However, it refers to 'Drawings' instead of 'Drawing Disciplines' in the usage text, which could cause minor confusion. The name and title make the resource clear.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description explains when to use the tool: 'enumerate Drawings when you need a paginated overview, to find IDs, or to filter by query parameters.' It provides context on pagination but does not explicitly mention alternatives or when not to use it. The guidance is sufficient but lacks exclusivity.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
