TDQS

B3.2/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

No annotations are provided, so the description carries the full burden. 'Get'/'Returns the public profile' clearly implies a read-only fetch of public data, and it discloses that feedback details are conditional ('when eBay provides them'), which is useful. It says nothing about rate limits, authentication, or failure cases, so the safety profile is only implicitly conveyed.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core purpose, then a compact enumeration of returned fields. The field list is long but each item is a distinct return value, so little is wasted; it stays a single purpose-driven block.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema exists, so the description usefully enumerates the returned fields to compensate. The main gap is the absence of any differentiation from the other ebay_seller_* siblings, which an agent needs in order to pick the right tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% for the single `seller` parameter, so the schema already documents its meaning and required status. The description only restates that `seller` is required, adding no format, casing, or lookup guidance beyond the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Get eBay seller profile') and enumerates exactly what is returned, so an agent knows the tool's scope without opening the schema. However, it does not distinguish itself from close siblings like ebay_seller_about, ebay_seller_feedback, or ebay_seller_shop, which likely return overlapping seller data.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines2/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description says what the tool fetches but never states when to choose it over ebay_seller_about / ebay_seller_feedback / ebay_seller_shop, nor any prerequisites or exclusions. With several seller-oriented siblings present, this leaves routing entirely to inference.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
