TDQS

A4/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations declare the safety profile (readOnly=false, destructive=true, idempotent=false), and the description adds scope beyond that: the change is limited to visible UI/focus with explicitly 'no playback or comp edit', plus auth/environment requirements. There is mild tension between 'show' wording and destructiveHint=true, but the description clarifies the limited nature of the mutation rather than contradicting the annotation.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three tightly packed sentences, front-loaded with the action and resource, followed by prerequisites and the effect boundary. Every clause carries information; nothing is redundant.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With an output schema present, return values need not be explained, and the description covers the action, prerequisites, and mutation scope. It is nearly complete; the only minor gap is not relating the tool to its take-lane sibling getters.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so trackId, expectedStateVersion, dryRun, planHash, and confirmationToken are already documented in the schema. The description adds no parameter-level meaning (e.g., token/hash workflow semantics), so the baseline of 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb ('Show') and resource ('Arrangement and one track take lanes') with the platform constraint ('macOS English Live UI'). It implicitly distinguishes itself from read-only siblings like get_take_lane_context by noting it changes UI/focus, though it does not name those siblings explicitly.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear preconditions for use: an unarmed unfrozen track, recording off, unfolded ancestor groups, a saved Set with native document identity, and one Live instance. It provides actionable context but does not name alternatives or state when NOT to use it versus the take-lane context getters.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
