No .aseprite, no delivery. AseDeliver is the missing compiler layer between "the AI drew a picture" and "the game can use it."

Image models can change. The delivery contract does not.

Showcase

The slime example is a finished 32×32 product drawn by the tool itself (outline, four-value shading, idle / walk / jump), verified by opening it in the official Aseprite 1.3.18.2.

How any AI uses it

  1. init a template project

  2. brief — draw the files it lists (any model, or ASCII)

  3. Put the files in raw/

  4. build

  5. validate's deliverable must be true

  6. open in Aseprite

The full contract is in AGENTS.md. Grok / Claude / Cursor / Codex can just read that one file.

git clone https://github.com/ylty1516/ase-deliver.git
cd ase-deliver
py -3 -m venv .venv
.venv\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install -r requirements.txt

ase-deliver.bat demo --out examples\slime --open
ase-deliver.bat init hero --template character-platformer --desc "side-view fox knight"
ase-deliver.bat brief hero
ase-deliver.bat build hero

Linux / macOS:

python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
PYTHONPATH=. python -m ase_deliver demo --out examples/slime

Hard rules (for models)

  • Subject isolated, background #FF00FF or already transparent, no ground, shadows, watermarks, or text

  • Standing pose with feet on the bottom edge of the canvas

  • Same character across frames: proportions, colors, pivot locked

  • Loop animations must be able to loop

  • Don't invent file names, follow the brief

Without an image model:

{ "map": { ".": null, "#": "#63c74d" }, "rows": ["....", ".##.", ".##.", "...."] }

ase-deliver paint <project> --tag idle --frame 0 --file pixels.json
