gmail_read
Reads a full Gmail conversation from a list/search result or open thread, expanding every message to show headers, bodies, labels, and attachments.
Instructions
Read a whole conversation: subject, labels, and every message (from, to, cc, date, full body, attachments).
Opens row index of the current list (or of query search results / folder); with no
index, reads the conversation already open. Collapsed messages are expanded and the whole
thread is scrolled. Opening an unread conversation marks it read unless keep_unread=true.
Input Schema
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| full | No | Fetch full headers and body of each message ('View entire message'); false = only the thread overview (senders, dates, snippets, attachments), much faster. | |
| index | No | Row index from gmail.list / gmail.search (0 = first row). | |
| query | No | Run this Gmail search first and take `index` from its results. | |
| folder | No | Open this folder/label first and take `index` from it. | |
| stay_open | No | Leave the conversation open on screen (default: go back to the list). | |
| keep_unread | No | If the conversation was unread, mark it unread again after reading. | |
| max_messages | No | Read full bodies of at most this many messages (oldest first). | |
| expect_subject | No | Safety check: the conversation's subject must contain this text (case-insensitive), otherwise nothing is done (not_found). |
