trmnl_update_room_booking_integration

Set which calendars sync to a room booking integration and configure workspace organizer or parking settings. Omitting a calendar stops syncing and removes it from screens.

Instructions

Choose the calendars of an account to sync, and its workspace settings calendar_ids, when given, is the whole set to sync: a calendar left out stops syncing and leaves every screen and collection. The ids are the numbers of the account's calendars, from listRoomBookingCalendars without the kind prefix. booking_organizer_email and parking_resource_group_id apply to a Microsoft workspace and are verified against Graph. TRMNL PATCH /api/apps/room_booking/{installation_id}/integrations/{integration_type}/{id}. Changes remote state or starts work. Run only within the user-authorized scope.

TDQS

B3.2/5.0
Behavior1/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The description discloses that a calendar left out of calendar_ids stops syncing and leaves every screen and collection, which is a removal/destructive effect, while the annotations declare destructiveHint=false. The whole-set semantics also appear inconsistent with idempotentHint=false. This is an annotation contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with purpose and key semantics, followed by the endpoint and a scope caution. It is dense but generally earns its space, though the long middle sentence could be more scannable.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a complex nested update with no output schema, the description covers purpose, side effects, id sourcing, Microsoft-specific conditions, and the PATCH endpoint. It leaves some gaps, such as what happens when calendar_ids is omitted and what values integration_type accepts, but it is largely complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is only 33%, but the description adds substantial meaning: calendar_ids is the complete set to sync, ids are numeric calendar ids from listRoomBookingCalendars without the kind prefix, and booking_organizer_email plus parking_resource_group_id apply to Microsoft workspaces and are verified against Graph. Minor gaps remain for integration_type values.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific action: choosing calendars to sync and configuring workspace settings for a room booking integration. It distinguishes itself from listRoomBookingCalendars by naming it as the source of calendar ids, but it does not explicitly contrast with sibling update tools such as trmnl_update_room_booking_settings.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It implies the tool is used when setting the full calendar sync set and Microsoft workspace settings, and it gives useful conditions such as the id source and Graph verification. However, it does not state explicit when-not conditions or name alternative tools for related updates.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
