### Suggestion #1: Cross-Platform Daemon Cleanup in Test
**Priority**: Medium | **Effort**: Low
**Context**: During Sprint 3 implementation, I added cleanup code to `phase-9-sprint-1-task-1.test.ts` to fix test flakiness caused by stale daemon processes. The cleanup uses `execSync('ps aux')` which is Unix-only.
**Problem**: The test will fail on Windows because `ps aux` is a Unix command.
**Suggested Fix**: Make the cleanup cross-platform by using:
- Windows: `wmic` to query processes with matching CommandLine, then `taskkill /PID <pid> /F`
- Unix: Keep existing `ps aux` approach
**Why this aligns with our principles**:
- **Does NOT contradict "fail loudly"**: This is test cleanup code, not production error handling
- **Does NOT contradict "no backwards compatibility"**: This adds platform support, not API compatibility
- **Follows existing pattern**: `tests/daemon/registry/daemon-registry.test.ts:18-106` already has this exact pattern implemented
- **Cross-platform support**: folder-mcp is designed to run on Windows, macOS, and Linux
**Reference Implementation**: Copy the pattern from `daemon-registry.test.ts`:
```typescript
const isWindows = process.platform === 'win32';
if (isWindows) {
// Windows: Use wmic to get command line details
const wmic = spawn('wmic', ['process', 'where', 'name="node.exe"', 'get', 'ProcessId,CommandLine', '/FORMAT:CSV'], { stdio: 'pipe' });
// ... parse and kill matching PIDs with taskkill
} else {
// Unix: Use ps aux
const ps = spawn('ps', ['aux'], { stdio: 'pipe' });
// ... parse and kill matching PIDs with process.kill
}
```

## Implementation Notes
**Use existing pattern**: The cleanest approach is to copy the cross-platform cleanup pattern from `tests/daemon/registry/daemon-registry.test.ts` lines 18-106.
**Key differences from current implementation**:
1. Current: Uses `execSync('ps aux')` - synchronous, Unix-only
2. Target: Uses `spawn()` with async handling, platform-branched
**Consideration**: Could extract this into a shared utility function since it's now used in two test files. However, that's optional and can be deferred.
