PRD Creator MCP Server

# Progress: PRD Creator MCP Server ## What Works - **Core MCP Server**: Basic server setup, STDIO transport, and request handling are functional. - **Template-Based PRD Generation**: The original `generate_prd` functionality using template substitution (`TemplateFallbackProvider`) is working. - **AI-Driven PRD Generation**: Integrated OpenAI provider with metrics (PRDs generated, AI calls counted, fallback tracking). - **PRD Validation**: The `validate_prd` tool and custom validation-rule management tools (`list_all_rules`, `add_validation_rule`, `update_validation_rule`, `delete_validation_rule`) are functional. - **Template Management**: Full CRUD and import/export support via `create_template`, `list_templates`, `get_template`, `update_template`, `delete_template`, `export_templates`, `import_templates` tools. - **Provider Configuration**: Dynamic provider overrides are stored and retrieved via `get_provider_config` and `update_provider_config` tools. - **Template Preview**: `render_template` tool performs placeholder substitution without AI. - **System Diagnostics**: `health_check` (DB connectivity & provider status) and `get_logs` (tail logs) tools work as expected. - **Usage Metrics**: `stats` tool reports counters from the `metrics` table (PRS generated, fallbacks, template creates, AI calls). - **Memory Bank Update**: Memory bank files have been reviewed and updated for accuracy and completeness. ## What's Left to Build / Implement 1. **Gemini Provider**: Implement API integration for Google Gemini. 2. **Anthropic Provider**: Implement API integration for Anthropic Claude. 3. **Local Model Provider**: Define standard interaction with local LLM services (Ollama, LM Studio). 4. **Testing**: Cover all new tools and storage modules with unit and integration tests. 5. **Prompt Engineering**: Refine AI prompts across providers for optimal PRD quality. 6. **Advanced Error Handling**: Enhance error logic, especially around provider rate limits and schema validation. ## Current Status - The core functionality for AI-driven PRD generation with multiple providers is architecturally complete. - OpenAI is fully functional as an AI provider. - Other AI providers are stubbed and require implementation. - The system successfully falls back to template-based generation if AI providers are unavailable or not configured. - All Memory Bank files are accurate and up to date. ## Known Issues - **Stub Providers**: Gemini, Anthropic, and Local providers remain stubs and will throw not-implemented errors. - **Testing Gaps**: Several new tools lack automated tests. - **Migration Idempotence**: Database migrations for `deleted`, `validation_rules`, and `metrics` are idempotent but currently untested. - **Log File Paths**: `get_logs` defaults to `combined.log`; rotating logs may require path adjustments. - **Potential Linter Error**: An unresolved linter error `Cannot find module 'openai' or its corresponding type declarations.` exists in `src/core/ai-providers/openai-provider.ts` which might indicate a build or configuration issue that needs investigation (though `npm install openai` was run). - **Environment File Creation**: Copy `.env.template` to `.env` and configure it based on README instructions.
