Instructions

List Actions

Returns all Action objects. You can sort the results by using the sort URI parameter, and filter them with the status and id parameter.

Input Schema

TDQS

C2.6/5.0
Behavior2/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds only that results can be sorted and filtered by status/id, which is largely restating the schema; it says nothing about pagination defaults, result volume, or the scope of the underlying action set.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Two compact sentences, front-loaded with the verb and resource, no filler. The only real weakness is that concision is achieved by omitting the one piece of information (scope) that matters most.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness2/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a listing tool amid many near-identical siblings and with no output schema, the description should clarify what action set is returned and how it differs from the global and per-resource listing tools. That disambiguation is entirely absent.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all five parameters (id, page, sort, status, per_page) are already documented with enums and defaults. The description names sort/status/id but adds no syntax or usage nuance beyond the schema, so baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose3/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a verb and resource ("List Actions ... Returns all Action objects") but never scopes it to volumes, even though the tool name and siblings (hcloud_list_actions, hcloud_list_volume_actions) imply a volume-specific subset. An agent cannot tell from the text whether this returns all actions globally or only those related to volumes.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines2/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

No guidance on when to use this versus hcloud_list_actions, hcloud_list_volume_actions, or hcloud_get_volumes_actions_id. The description offers only generic filter/sort advice, not selection criteria.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
