Switch connector consent bypass

cs_set_connector_consent_bypass

Set connector consent bypass on or off for a Copilot Studio agent. On skips end-user approval prompts so tools run immediately; off restores the consent prompt.

Instructions

Switch connector consent bypass on or off for one agent. On, end users stop being asked to approve the agent's connectors and the tools run straight away; off restores the consent prompt. An admin setting through the Power Platform API, so the signed-in user needs a Power Platform or Copilot Studio admin role. Changes a live environment: requires confirm: true. Follows the published Power Platform API reference; not yet verified against a live tenant.

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
botIdNoAgent (bot) id. Defaults to workspace sync metadata or CPS_AGENT_ID.
confirmNoRequired to actually perform a change in a live environment. Without it the tool returns a dry run.
enabledYestrue switches the bypass on (no consent prompt), false switches it off
clientIdNoEntra app (client) id for MSAL. Defaults to CPS_CLIENT_ID, then the first-party VS Code id.
tenantIdNoEntra tenant id. Defaults to the workspace sync metadata, then CPS_TENANT_ID.
workspaceNoPath to (or inside) the agent workspace. Defaults to CPS_WORKSPACE or the current directory.
environmentIdNoPower Platform environment id (GUID). Defaults to workspace sync metadata or CPS_ENVIRONMENT_ID.

TDQS

A4.9/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Since no annotations are provided, the description bears the full burden. It discloses critical operational behavior beyond the basic function, such as the specific impact of the bypass (end users stop being asked to approve) and the high-risk warning that the tool 'not yet verified against a live tenant.'

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is highly dense and effective. It front-loads the core function and then efficiently stacks the necessary contextual details (effect, permission, warning) using minimal, impactful language.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a complex administrative action tool, this description is exceptionally complete. It covers the functional effect, the necessary permissions, the operational requirements (admin API setting), and a critical technical caveat (unverified in live tenant), leaving no major call-to-action gaps.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

The schema coverage is 100%, providing a solid baseline. The description adds useful semantic context, specifically explaining the real-world consequence of the 'enabled' boolean (no consent prompt vs. restores prompt) and defining the practical use of the 'confirm' parameter for live environments.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description uses a specific action verb ('Switch') applied to a distinct resource ('connector consent bypass') and clearly defines the scope ('for one agent'). This differentiates it from related getter tools like cs_get_connector_consent_bypass.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It provides explicit instructions on prerequisites, stating the user must have a 'Power Platform or Copilot Studio admin role.' Furthermore, it outlines the conditional usage of the tool by stating that live changes 'requires confirm: true'.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
