Show one evaluation test set

cs_get_test_set

Fetch one read-only evaluation test set and its test cases for a Copilot Studio agent; use the testSetId from cs_list_test_sets.

Instructions

Show one evaluation test set of an agent with its test cases. Read-only. testSetId comes from cs_list_test_sets. Runs 'pac copilot-studio get-maker-evaluation-test-set' with the active pac auth profile.

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
cwdNoWorking directory for pac (for project commands: the solution project folder)
botIdYesAgent id (GUID)
profileNopac auth profile to run as: the admin account for tenant commands. Defaults to CPS_ADMIN_PROFILE for admin commands and CPS_PAC_PROFILE otherwise, then the active profile. cs_init lists the profiles.
testSetIdYesTest set id (cs_list_test_sets)
backgroundNoRun in the background and return a jobId immediately, for a command that takes longer than the client will wait. Poll cs_job_status.
environmentNoEnvironment id or URL; default: the environment of the active pac auth profile

TDQS

A4.2/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description must carry the behavioral load; it usefully declares 'Read-only' and names the underlying pac command and auth profile behavior. However, it says nothing about error behavior, permissions, or whether the run blocks, so the disclosure is partial.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three tight sentences: purpose, safety trait, parameter provenance, and execution context, all front-loaded with zero filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a read-only fetch with full schema coverage and no output schema, the description covers purpose, safety, parameter sourcing, and execution mechanism. It could say more about the shape of the returned test cases, but nothing essential to invoking it is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3; the description adds provenance for the required testSetId ('comes from cs_list_test_sets'), which helps an agent source the value rather than guess. It adds no semantics for botId or the optional pac flags beyond the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb ('Show') and resource ('one evaluation test set of an agent with its test cases'), which clearly separates it from cs_list_test_sets and the other evaluation tools. An agent knows exactly what it retrieves without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Names the sibling that produces the required testSetId (cs_list_test_sets) and notes it runs under the active pac auth profile, giving clear context for when to call it. It stops short of explicit when-not conditions or alternatives for retrieving test sets by other means.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
