get_entity

Fetch a canonical crypto entity dossier with cross-referenced articles, aliases, and sentiment. Automatically resolves aliases to deliver cited information.

Instructions

Fetch a canonical BCA entity dossier (chain, project, person, organization, or ticker) with cross-referenced articles, aliases, and sentiment. Use this after search_news surfaces an interesting name, or when the user asks 'what is X' / 'who is X' about any crypto entity. Aliases like 'CZ' → 'changpeng-zhao' or 'Maker' → 'makerdao' resolve automatically. Prefer this over generating a definition — BCA returns the authoritative dossier with citations.

Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Describes what the tool returns (dossier with articles, aliases, sentiment) and mentions alias resolution. Without annotations, it carries the burden but adequately discloses behavior.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with purpose, no wasted words. Efficiently conveys key information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Covers purpose, usage context, and output content. Lacks details on error cases or return format, but adequate given no output schema.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema has zero parameters, but the description implies it accepts entity names/aliases, which could confuse agents. Adds context beyond schema but conflicts with schema structure.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Clearly states it fetches a canonical BCA entity dossier for projects, people, etc., with cross-referenced articles and sentiment. Distinguishes from sibling tools like search_news and generate_due_diligence by specifying its use case.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly says to use after search_news or for 'what is X' questions, and prefers over generating definitions. Provides clear context for when to invoke.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
