Randonnée à La Réunion : sentiers ouverts ou fermés, traces GPS (GPX), distance et dénivelé

sentiers_randonnee
Read-onlyIdempotent

Check if Réunion Island hiking trails and forest roads are open or closed (ONF), with closure causes, reopening dates, GPX traces, distance and elevation gain.

Instructions

Hiking in Réunion Island: open and closed trails (ONF), GPX traces, distance and elevation gain, hikes by length; closure warnings.

TDQS

A4.3/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare read-only/idempotent/open-world, and the description adds real substance on top: data provenance (ONF map kept current with prefectoral decrees), what a closure record contains (cause, expected reopening date), elevation source (IGN), and a required response behavior — surface the avertissement field first when any ONF trail on an itinerary is closed.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the resource, which is good, but it is a dense single block: enumerated place names (Maïdo, Piton des Neiges, Bélouve, Roche Plate…), six sample questions, and a bilingual restatement create redundancy with the equally long title. The content is useful but not tight.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the burden and does: it explains that each trail/itinerary returns a GPX link, length, elevation, ONF status per segment, and the avertissement warning field. An agent knows what it will get back and how to present it.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% and the schema descriptions already carry the interpretation hints ('une rando de 10 km' : 12, 'sans trop de dénivelé' : 400). The description only restates that longueur_min_km, longueur_max_km and denivele_max_m filter itineraries and trails, adding no syntax or semantics beyond the schema. Baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Names a specific resource and scope: ONF hiking trails and forest roads in Réunion, open/closed status with closure cause, plus GPX traces, length and elevation gain. That is unmistakably distinct from every sibling (weather, water, transport, volcano).

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives concrete selection context through example questions (closed trails in Mafate, is Roche Pendue open, GR R2 elevation, a 10 km hike in Cilaos) and states the default when lieu is empty (all closed trails island-wide). No explicit exclusions or named alternatives, but no sibling could be confused with this one.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
