flexsim_close_model

Close the active FlexSim window model, optionally saving it first, to end the current GUI session.

Instructions

Close the window model, optionally saving first (window backend only).

y limpia _gui_model_path. Devuelve OK.

Args:
save: run applicationcommand("save") before closing (default False).

TDQS

A3.7/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

No annotations are provided, so the description carries the full burden and does so well: it discloses that no verified close command exists, that it kills only the current model's window via powershell Stop-Process filtered by MainWindowTitle, that it cleans up _gui_model_path, and that save runs applicationcommand('save') first. It stops short of explicitly warning that unsaved work is lost if save=False.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The purpose is front-loaded, but the remainder is dense implementation detail in mixed English/Spanish, including a justification aside about grep results. Some of this earns its place (it explains why no native close command is used), but the prose is heavier than needed.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given a single optional parameter, an output schema (so return values need not be described) and the fact that 'Devuelve OK' is mentioned anyway, the description is complete for calling the tool correctly; only an explicit destructive-warning is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0% and the only parameter is undocumented in the schema, so the description must compensate. It does: 'save' is defined as running applicationcommand('save') before closing, with default False stated, adding real meaning beyond the bare boolean.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The first sentence states a clear verb+resource (close the window model) and a scope constraint (window backend only), with an option to save first. It doesn't explicitly name a sibling alternative, but 'window model' and 'close' distinguish it from save_model/open_model/reset/stop reasonably well.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The 'window backend only' qualifier gives implicit usage scoping, and the save option hints at the branch condition, but there is no explicit statement of when to use this versus flexsim_save_model or flexsim_stop, nor any stated exclusions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
