Executive Summary - **Overall Status:** Development-ready, **not** production-ready. Core MCP transport, memory model, and learner scaffolding operate, but advanced research features and production guardrails remain incomplete. - **Documentation Drift:** Major documentation sets (README, API reference, LLM prompt, roadmap, guides) diverged on tool counts, feature readiness, and audit progress. This audit realigns canonical sources and retires redundant reports. - **Tool Reality:** `src/index.ts` currently registers **17** MCP tools (`help`, `bootstrap_memory`, `init_model`, `memory_stats`, `forward_pass`, `train_step`, `get_memory_state`, `get_token_flow_metrics`, `reset_gradients`, `prune_memory`, `save_checkpoint`, `load_checkpoint`, `init_learner`, `pause_learner`, `resume_learner`, `get_learner_stats`, `add_training_sample`). Planned tools `manifold_step`, `encode_text`, `get_surprise_metrics`, `analyze_memory`, `predict_next` do not exist yet and should be tracked as roadmap items. - **Key Gaps:** Momentum/token-flow/forgetting-gate integrations are stubbed; workflow orchestrators unfinished; production hygiene (health checks, logging, auth) missing; automated testing limited to unit coverage. --- ## 2. Audit Scope & Method 1. **Source Review:** README, docs/api, docs/architecture-overview, DETAILED_IMPLEMENTATION_GUIDE, roadmap docs, audit reports, and code (`src/index.ts`, `src/model.ts`, `src/types.ts`, `src/learner.ts`, `src/workflows/`). 2. **Verification:** Cross-checked tool registrations, configuration schemas, learner utilities, and telemetry helpers against documentation claims. 3. **Consolidation:** Merged prior audits (`AUDIT_FINDINGS.md`, `AUDIT_IMPLEMENTATION_SUMMARY.md`, `mcp-titan-system-audit.md`) into this single artifact with updated status tracking. --- ## 3. Findings ### 4.1 Documentation Alignment - README/tooling overview, docs/api, docs/llm-system-prompt, and Implementation docs disagree on tool count and availability. Help text in `src/index.ts` advertises `manifold_step`, which is neither registered nor implemented. - API reference omits `get_token_flow_metrics` and still conveys a 15-tool registry. LLM system prompt only documents 10 tools and lacks latest schema details. - Historical audit documents claimed resolution of Week 1 tasks (input validation, integration tests). Code retains validation helpers, but integration test suite referenced (`src/__tests__/integration.test.ts`) does not exist. ### 4.2 Research Feature Gaps - `TitanMemoryModel` defines structures for momentum (`momentumState`, `computeMomentumUpdate`), token flow tracking (`tokenFlowHistory`, `flowWeights`), forgetting gate, and hierarchical promotion rules, but none are activated in `forward`/`trainStep`. - Quantization and contrastive learning helpers exist but are disabled by default (`config.enableQuantization` never toggled; negative buffer absent). ### 4.3 Production Hardening - No health or readiness probes, structured logging, authentication, or rate limiting. Autosave retry logs success/failure but final fallback remains silent if retry fails. - Path validation is present for checkpoints, but autosave still writes raw JSON without encryption. ### 4.4 Workflow Modules - `WorkflowOrchestrator`, `GitHubWorkflowManager`, `LintingManager`, `FeedbackProcessor`, and `WorkflowUtils` remain disconnected from server lifecycle; documentation should flag them as experimental or pending integration. ### 4.5 Testing & Quality - Jest configuration targets `test/` directory; there is no integration harness invoking the MCP transport. Edge cases (concurrent tool calls, malformed JSON-RPC, memory overflow) lack coverage. - TypeScript types still loosened (e.g., `this.tokenizer?: any`), and lint directives disable unused-var checks in `src/model.ts`. --- ## 5.
