# Salesforce MCP - Final File Structure Cleanup Complete ✅
## Overview
Successfully completed the full file structure reorganization and API parameter cleanup for the Salesforce MCP backup tools.
## ✅ Completed Tasks
### 1. **Core Functionality Moved to Proper Location**
- **Source**: `demo-salesforce-backup.js` (core classes)
- **Destination**: `src/backup/manager.js`
- **Classes Moved**:
- `SalesforceFileDownloader`
- `SalesforceBackupManager`
### 2. **Import References Updated**
- **MCP Tools**: `src/tools/backup.js` ✅
```javascript
// OLD: import { SalesforceBackupManager } from '../../demo-salesforce-backup.js';
// NEW: import { SalesforceBackupManager } from '../backup/manager.js';
```
- **Integration Tests**: `test-backup-integration.js` ✅
```javascript
// OLD: import('./demo-salesforce-backup.js')
// NEW: import('./src/backup/manager.js')
```
### 3. **Demo File Properly Restructured**
- `demo-salesforce-backup.js` now only contains:
- Demo/example code
- Mock data and clients
- Import from proper location: `./src/backup/manager.js`
- Demonstration functions
### 4. **API Parameter Security Cleanup**
- Removed user-facing directory parameters from MCP tools
- Added automatic directory creation with error handling
- Internal paths no longer exposed in API schema
### 5. **STDIO Communication Fixed**
- All `console.log` statements replaced with proper logger system
- MCP STDIO communication no longer interfered with by debug output
- Logger only outputs when `DEBUG=true` environment variable is set
## 📁 Final File Structure
```
src/
├── backup/
│ └── manager.js # Core backup functionality
├── tools/
│ └── backup.js # MCP tool definitions
└── utils/
└── debug.js # Logger utility
demo-salesforce-backup.js # Demo script (imports from src/)
test-backup-integration.js # Integration tests (imports from src/)
```
## 🧪 Testing Results
### All Tests Pass ✅
- **Integration Tests**: All 12 MCP tools recognized
- **Schema Validation**: All tool schemas valid
- **Class Instantiation**: All backup classes work correctly
- **Demo Script**: Runs successfully with mock data
- **File Structure**: No broken imports or references
### Test Commands Used:
```bash
# Integration tests
node test-backup-integration.js
# Demo functionality
DEBUG=true node demo-salesforce-backup.js
```
## 🔒 Security Improvements
### API Parameters Cleaned:
- ❌ Removed: `backup_directory` parameter
- ❌ Removed: `output_directory` parameter
- ✅ Added: Automatic internal directory management
- ✅ Added: Error handling for disk space issues
### Before:
```javascript
properties: {
backup_directory: {
type: "string",
description: "Directory containing backup files to list",
default: "./backups"
}
}
```
### After:
```javascript
properties: {} // No user-facing directory parameters
```
## 💻 Usage Examples
### MCP Tool Usage:
```javascript
// Full backup (no parameters needed)
salesforce_backup({"backup_type": "full"})
// Incremental backup
salesforce_backup({
"backup_type": "incremental",
"since_date": "2024-06-01T00:00:00.000Z"
})
// List backups (no parameters needed)
salesforce_backup_list({})
```
### Internal Directory Management:
- Backups automatically stored in `./backups/`
- Directories created automatically with `{ recursive: true }`
- No user configuration required or exposed
## 🎉 Summary
