TDQS

A3.5/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare destructiveHint=true and non-idempotent, but the description adds genuinely new behavior: that account state changes, that confirm=true is mandatory for the user-requested action, and that OAuth integrations need subscriptions:write. It stops short of describing reversibility or what state transitions (e.g. unsubscribing) are entailed.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three tight sentences with the main action front-loaded and the safety constraint immediately after. No filler and nothing redundant.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a destructive, 16-parameter tool with nested objects and no output schema, the description covers the confirm/auth essentials but omits how the payload and individual body flags interact and what a caller gets back. It is adequate to invoke safely, but not complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters2/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

With 16 parameters and only 63% schema description coverage, the description should carry meaningful param load, but it only echoes the confirm flag's semantics (already in the schema). It contributes nothing about the payload-vs-body-flags exclusivity or the email-change implications, leaving several params undocumented in both places.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource and a targeting key ('by email'), which lets an agent distinguish it from the email-less update_subscription/patch_subscription siblings. It does not explicitly name or contrast those siblings, so it falls short of full differentiation.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives a real precondition ('requires confirm=true for the user-requested action') and the OAuth scope needed, which is useful routing context. However, it never says when to choose this tool over update_subscription or patch_subscription, or what the email-keyed lookup implies, so usage is only implied.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
