  2. First observedv2.0.0

TDQS

A3.5/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare destructiveHint=true and non-idempotent, so the safety bar is lower; the description still adds two things they don't carry: that the call mutates account state and that it is gated behind an explicit confirm flag, plus the OAuth scope requirement. It omits partial-update semantics and what happens to unspecified fields.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three short sentences with the action front-loaded and no filler; the confirm requirement and auth scope each earn their place. It is arguably too terse for a 16-parameter destructive tool, but nothing is padded.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness2/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a destructive PATCH with 16 parameters, nested objects, 63% coverage and no output schema, the description leaves major gaps: it never explains the payload-vs-individual-flag-vs-payload_file mutual exclusion, the partial-update behavior, or how it differs from the update_subscription sibling.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

With 16 parameters and 63% schema description coverage, the schema carries most parameter meaning. The description adds no parameter detail beyond echoing the confirm flag that the schema already documents verbatim, and says nothing about the mutually exclusive payload / body-flag / payload_file paths.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Update subscription by ID'), which is clearer than the bare name. However, it does not distinguish itself from the near-identical siblings update_subscription and update_subscription_by_email, so an agent cannot tell from the description alone which of the three is intended.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives one concrete gating rule ('requires confirm=true for the user-requested action') and an auth scope, which is real usage guidance. It never says when to prefer this over update_subscription or update_subscription_by_email, so the alternative-selection guidance is absent.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
