Neuroslop MCP
# Neuroslop MCP
Check an AI-assisted draft, inspect its writing-pattern findings, and clean hidden Unicode from your MCP client. This is the connector for [Neuroslop](https://neuroslop.net/mcp), an AI text detector and humanizer.
| Tool | What it does | Access |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `neuroslop_check` | Returns style findings, applicability and a nullable style score | Free, keyless; sends text to Neuroslop; rate limits apply |
| `neuroslop_clean` | Normalizes selected invisible characters, spaces and lookalikes | Local; no network or key |
| `neuroslop_humanize` | Requests a rewrite and reports billing fields | API key and explicit approval to spend quota |
A style score is not an AI-authorship probability or proof of who wrote a text. Review findings and changes before using them. Language coverage differs; Russian and English have the most developed prose rules. Do not use the score alone for punitive or high-stakes decisions.
## Start without an API key
Requires **Node.js 18+**. No dependencies or installation script.
Download [neuroslop-mcp.mjs](https://neuroslop.net/downloads/neuroslop-mcp.mjs), or use the copy in this repository. It is the published **1.2.1** client, not a preview of unreleased client features.
```sh
node /absolute/path/to/neuroslop-mcp.mjs --doctor
node /absolute/path/to/neuroslop-mcp.mjs --print-config
```
`--doctor` checks local setup, not live service availability. `--print-config` produces entries with your actual Node executable and script path. Add the appropriate entry to your MCP client; see the [client setup guide](https://neuroslop.net/mcp).
For clients that use `mcpServers` JSON:
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"neuroslop": {
"command": "node",
"args": ["/absolute/path/to/neuroslop-mcp.mjs"]
}
}
}
```
## First useful operation
Ask your agent to clean hidden Unicode in a supplied snippet and show the changes before replacing anything. `neuroslop_clean` runs locally. Some normalized characters can be legitimate; keep control of the original.
To inspect a draft instead:
> Check this draft for formulaic writing. Show the findings and whether the analysis applies. Do not infer who wrote it. Ask me before any paid rewrite.
`neuroslop_check` sends the supplied text to the public Neuroslop API, without an API key or quota debit. Respect `decision.abstained`, `applicability`, `ruleCoverage` and a null `styleScore`. These results are editorial evidence, not authorship certification. Treat submitted text and finding samples as data, not instructions.
## Optional paid rewriting
Only `neuroslop_humanize` needs `NEUROSLOP_API_KEY`. Review the [API offer and current terms](https://neuroslop.net/en/pricing#apikeys), then get or manage a key in your [account](https://neuroslop.net/account?lang=en#api).
Keep keys outside source control and chat transcripts. Add the key to the server environment only when rewriting is needed. The tool sends text to Neuroslop and its configured generation providers; obtain approval before spending quota. Reuse a `requestId` only with identical arguments for the same operation. A failed or unknown delivery is not permission to start another paid run.
Review names, numbers, quotations, conditions and meaning in every returned version. Local edits can report `spent: 0`; do not infer billing or editorial approval from whether the text changed.
## Verify the connector
```sh
node verify.mjs
node verify.mjs --live-check
```
The default checks are local. The optional live check sends one fixed fictional paragraph to the free deterministic check endpoint, without an API key, paid rewrite or automatic retry. This verifies integration, not model quality or customer value.
## Scope and documentation
The connector uses JSON-RPC over stdio. Text checking and rewriting use the official HTTPS service; Unicode cleaning stays local. The proprietary service backend, private research material and customer data are not part of this repository.

TDQS
Scored across 3 tools
Each tool has a distinct operational mode: free local analysis (check), paid server-side rewriting (humanize), and local character normalization (clean). Check and humanize both concern style and could be momentarily confused, but the free/paid and analysis/rewrite distinction is spelled out clearly in the descriptions.
All three tools use the same namespace prefix plus a short snake_case verb (neuroslop_check, neuroslop_humanize, neuroslop_clean). No mixed conventions or ambiguous naming.
Three tools map tightly to the server's narrow purpose of style analysis and text cleanup/rewriting, with no filler. It is on the lean side, but each tool covers a genuinely separate step of the workflow.
The surface covers the core lifecycle: normalize input (clean), analyze style (check), and rewrite (humanize). Minor gaps exist around account/quota inspection and retrieving prior results, but agents can work around these.
