# Integration Guide
This guide explains how to integrate the BirdNet MCP Server with your applications.
## Prerequisites
- Python 3.8 or higher
- BirdNet-Pi installation
- Network access to the server
## Server Setup
1. Clone the repository:
```bash
git clone https://github.com/DMontgomery40/mcp-local-server.git
cd mcp-local-server
```
2. Install dependencies:
```bash
pip install -r requirements.txt
```
3. Configure environment variables:
```bash
export BIRDNET_DETECTIONS_FILE=/path/to/detections.json
export BIRDNET_AUDIO_DIR=/path/to/audio/files
```
