Jira MCP Server
This server integrates with Jira Cloud to programmatically manage issues through the REST API (/rest/api/3). You can:
Get Issue By Key: Retrieve details of specific issues
Search Issues: Find issues matching specified criteria
Create Issue: Add new issues to projects
Assign/Unassign Issues: Manage issue ownership
Edit Issue: Modify issue details
Transition Issue: Move issues through workflows
Archive Issues: Remove issues from active lists
Note: This is a work in progress, currently tested only with Jira Cloud endpoints.
Provides tools for interacting with Jira, including getting issues by key, searching issues, creating new issues, assigning and unassigning issues, and editing existing issues. Works with Jira Cloud endpoints and potentially with Jira Data Center.
Click on "Install Server".
Wait a few minutes for the server to deploy. Once ready, it will show a "Started" state.
In the chat, type
@followed by the MCP server name and your instructions, e.g., "@Jira MCP Serversearch for open bugs in project ABC assigned to me"
That's it! The server will respond to your query, and you can continue using it as needed.

An MCP Server to communicate with Jira.
This may work with Jira Data Center rest endpoints (/rest/api/2), but as of right now only cloud endpoints have been tested (/rest/api/3).
Running the Server

In your MCP client, you'll need to add the following environment variables:
JIRA_PROJECT_URL- Including/rest/api/3at the end. This should look likehttps://your-project.atlassian.net/rest/api/3.JIRA_USER_EMAIL- Your user email address. This is needed for Authorization with the API.JIRA_API_KEY- Your Jira API key. You can find info on creating and managing Jira API keys hereJIRA_PROJECT_KEY- The default key you'd like to use for creating new issues
