Connect X Ads (formerly Twitter Ads) to AI assistants to report on campaigns and build them: campaigns, line items, promoted-only posts and cards, with new campaigns starting paused.

Part of the Insightful Pipe MCP Server Collection — The X Ads MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants 80 actions (52 read and 28 that make changes) on your X ad accounts. Your assistant can report on campaigns, line items, promoted posts and creatives, then create campaigns, line items, promoted-only ad posts and website, app or carousel cards. New campaigns and line items start paused, ad posts are created promoted-only so they don't appear on your public timeline, and delete actions stay off until an admin turns them on.

What is X Ads MCP?

X Ads MCP is a remote Model Context Protocol server that connects your X Ads Manager to AI assistants. This real-time advertising integration allows you to:

  • Query X ad performance using natural language

  • Analyze promoted tweet engagement

  • Track video views and website conversions

  • Create async analytics jobs for large datasets

  • Get AI recommendations for campaign optimization

Installation

Claude

  1. Copy the MCP Server URL: https://x-ads.insightfulmcp.com/

  2. Open Claude connector settings (Customize > Connectors), click + and then Add custom connector

  3. Paste the URL and click Add

  4. Click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. Claude then lists the connector as connected.

ChatGPT

Custom MCP servers are added through ChatGPT's Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to allow it.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings

  2. Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the URL: https://x-ads.insightfulmcp.com/

  3. Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. The connection finishes as soon as you are signed in.

Control What Your AI Can Do

You decide what AI agents can do with each connected account:

  • Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.

  • Connect as Read-only or Read & Write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.

  • Destructive actions stay off by default. Actions such as deletes are disabled until an admin enables them.

  • Team access per account. Restricted team members only use the accounts they are granted, with the read actions enabled on them.
