# GitHub Repository Setup Instructions
## Manual GitHub Repository Creation
Since GitHub CLI is not available, follow these steps to create the "sdof-mcp" repository on GitHub:
### 1. Create Repository on GitHub.com
1. Go to [GitHub.com](https://github.com) and sign in
2. Click the "+" icon in the top right corner
3. Select "New repository"
4. Fill in the repository details:
- **Repository name**: `sdof-mcp`
- **Description**: `Structured Decision Optimization Framework (SDOF) MCP Server - Next-generation knowledge management with 5-phase optimization workflow`
- **Visibility**: Public (recommended for open source)
- **Initialize**: Leave unchecked (we already have files)
5. Click "Create repository"
### 2. Push Local Repository to GitHub
After creating the repository, run these commands in the `sdof-mcp` directory:
```bash
# Add the remote origin (replace YOUR_USERNAME with your GitHub username)
git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/sdof-mcp.git
# Push the code to GitHub
git branch -M main
git push -u origin main
```
### 3. Update Repository URLs
After pushing, update the package.json URLs:
1. Edit `package.json`
2. Replace `"url": "https://github.com/your-username/sdof-mcp.git"` with your actual GitHub URL
3. Replace `"url": "https://github.com/your-username/sdof-mcp/issues"` with your actual issues URL
4. Replace `"homepage": "https://github.com/your-username/sdof-mcp#readme"` with your actual homepage URL
### 4. Verify Repository
After pushing, verify on GitHub that all files are present:
- ✅ README.md (with badges and documentation)
- ✅ SDOF_INSTALLATION_GUIDE.md
- ✅ README_SDOF_MIGRATION.md
- ✅ src/ directory with all TypeScript source files
- ✅ docs/ directory with documentation
- ✅ package.json, tsconfig.json, jest.config.js
- ✅ .gitignore and LICENSE files
- ✅ .env.example for configuration template
### 5. Repository Features to Enable
Consider enabling these GitHub features:
1. **Issues**: For bug reports and feature requests
2. **Discussions**: For community Q&A
3. **Wiki**: For extended documentation
4. **Releases**: For version management
5. **Topics**: Add tags like `mcp`, `sdof`, `knowledge-base`, `typescript`, `ai`
### 6. Initial Release
Create your first release:
1. Go to Releases tab
2. Click "Create a new release"
3. Tag version: `v1.0.0`
4. Release title: `SDOF MCP v1.0.0 - Initial Release`
5. Description: Copy from the README.md features section

## Success Criteria
Repository is ready when:
- ✅ All files pushed to GitHub successfully
- ✅ README displays properly with badges and documentation
- ✅ Installation guide is accessible
- ✅ Package.json has correct repository URLs
- ✅ Repository topics/tags are added
- ✅ Initial release is created
