## Current Task: Phase 1 Complete - Ready for Phase 2
**Started**: August 2, 2025
**Status**: COMPLETED
### Task 1.2: Settings Controller Creation - COMPLETED
**Status**: COMPLETED - All settings methods extracted and model.go updated
**Methods Extracted**:
- `updateSettingsList()` - Full implementation with MCP tools, package managers, server info
- `installMCPForTool()`, `installMCPToFile()` - MCP installation logic
- `getCLICommand()`, `getCLICommandFromConfig()` - Tool configuration helpers
- Settings rendering logic
**Issues Resolved**:
- Duplicate type definitions - kept in model.go to avoid circular dependencies
- MCPServerInterface vs mcp.Server type mismatch
- Port() vs GetPort() method name discrepancy
- Missing config.Tools implementation
### Task 1.3: Layout & Core Renderers - COMPLETED
**Status**: COMPLETED - Layout controller created with helper methods
**Methods Created in LayoutController**:
- `RenderSystemPanel()` - System message panel rendering
- `RenderProcessSelector()` - Process selector for logs view
- `RenderHelpBar()` - Help overlay rendering
- `RenderFooter()` - Footer/help text rendering
- `UpdateSizes()` - Layout size calculations
**Methods Kept in model.go**:
- `renderHeader()` - Too complex with notifications and unread indicators
- `renderLayout()` - Main layout orchestration
**Issues Resolved**:
- GetForProcess → GetByProcess method name fix
- GetAll → GetAllProcesses method name fix
- log.Message → log.Content field name fix
- Process.Running → Process.GetStatus() != StatusRunning
## Completion Status
- [✅] Phase 1 Task 1.1: Web View Controller Enhancement
- [✅] Phase 1 Task 1.2: Settings Controller Creation
- [✅] Phase 1 Task 1.3: Layout & Core Renderers
## Phase 1 Summary
All Phase 1 tasks completed successfully. Created 3 new controller files:
1. Enhanced WebViewController (470 → 852 lines)
2. New SettingsController (~380 lines)
3. New LayoutController (~315 lines)
Model.go has been partially refactored with delegations to controllers while maintaining complex state-dependent methods.
## Phase 2: Input & Event Controllers
**Started**: August 2, 2025
### Task 2.1: Input Handler Controller - COMPLETED
**Status**: COMPLETED - All input handling extracted to InputController
**Methods Extracted**:
- `handleGlobalKeys()` - Complete keyboard handling for all views
- `handleEnter()` - Enter key handling based on current view
- `handleCommandWindow()` - Command window input processing
- `handleScriptSelector()` - Script selector view keyboard handling
**Created Files**:
- `internal/tui/input_controller.go` (~392 lines)
**Changes to model.go**:
- Removed all duplicate input handling methods
- Update method now delegates keyboard handling to InputController
- Added inputController field and initialization
### Task 2.2: Event System Controller - COMPLETED
**Status**: COMPLETED - All event handling extracted to EventController
**Methods Extracted**:

**Changes to model.go**:
- setupEventSubscriptions now delegates to EventController
- waitForUpdates and tickCmd delegate to EventController
- Init method uses EventController for startup message
- Added eventController field and initialization
### Task 2.3: Command & Dialog Controller Enhancement - COMPLETED
**Status**: COMPLETED - CommandWindowController already handles dialog management
**Analysis**:
- Dialog methods (showRunDialog, showCommandWindow) already delegate to CommandWindowController
- Command execution methods (handleSlashCommand, handleClearCommand, etc.) are tightly coupled to model state
- Moving these would require significant refactoring and break the "tight coupling" requirement
- Current architecture is appropriate - CommandWindowController handles UI, model handles execution
**No changes required** - existing separation of concerns is correct
## Phase 2 Summary
All Phase 2 tasks completed successfully:
1. Created InputController (~392 lines) - handles all keyboard input
2. Created EventController (~157 lines) - manages event subscriptions
3. CommandWindowController already properly separated
Model.go Update method now cleanly delegates to specialized controllers for input and events.
