# Project Log: Vulnerability MCP Server ## Project Overview This is a web application for managing and monitoring vulnerabilities, built with Python FastAPI and Docker. The application provides a dashboard interface for administrators to manage users and view system status. ## Development History ### Initial Setup and Configuration - Created Docker-based application structure - Set up FastAPI backend with SQLAlchemy ORM - Implemented user authentication and authorization - Created frontend with HTML/JavaScript - Configured database with PostgreSQL ### Key Components 1. Backend: - FastAPI application - SQLAlchemy models - JWT authentication - PostgreSQL database 2. Frontend: - Dashboard interface - Admin panel - User management - Real-time status updates 3. Infrastructure: - Docker containers - Docker Compose configuration - Environment variables - Deployment scripts ### Deployment Process - Application deployed on remote server (zabbix) - Docker containers for application and database - Automated deployment scripts - GitHub repository integration ### Recent Updates - Fixed database connectivity issues - Updated Docker configuration - Improved deployment automation - Enhanced security measures ## Technical Stack - Python 3.11 - FastAPI - SQLAlchemy - PostgreSQL - Docker - HTML/JavaScript - JWT Authentication ## Project Structure ``` /opt/mcp/ ├── app/ │ ├── admin.html │ ├── config.py │ ├── dashboard.html │ ├── index.html │ ├── main.js │ ├── models.py │ └── register.html ├── migrations/ ├── docker-compose.yml ├── Dockerfile ├── requirements.txt └── deploy.sh ``` ## Configuration Files - `.env`: Environment variables - `docker-compose.yml`: Container orchestration - `requirements.txt`: Python dependencies - `alembic.ini`: Database migration config ## Deployment Information - Remote Server: zabbix - Application Path: /opt/mcp - Database: PostgreSQL in Docker - Port: 8000 ## Security Considerations - JWT-based authentication - Environment variable protection - Secure password handling - HTTPS configuration ## Future Improvements - Enhanced error handling - Additional security features - Performance optimizations - Extended monitoring capabilities
