# Windows Deployment & GitHub Setup - Summary
## ✅ Completed Tasks
### 1. Git Repository
- ✅ Git repository initialized
- ✅ `.gitignore` file created (excludes Python cache, env files, logs, etc.)
### 2. Windows Deployment Files
- ✅ `setup-windows.bat` - Automated setup script
- ✅ `start-server.bat` - Quick start web server
- ✅ `start-mcp-server.bat` - Quick start MCP server
- ✅ `install-dependencies.bat` - Update dependencies
- ✅ `init-database.bat` - Initialize database
### 3. Documentation
- ✅ `WINDOWS_DEPLOYMENT.md` - Complete Windows deployment guide
- ✅ `GITHUB_SETUP.md` - GitHub repository setup instructions
- ✅ `DEPLOYMENT_CHECKLIST.md` - Deployment checklist
- ✅ `README.md` - Updated with Windows deployment info
### 4. Configuration
- ✅ `.gitignore` - Comprehensive ignore rules
- ⚠️ `.env.example` - Template (may need manual creation if blocked)
## 🚀 Next Steps
### 1. Create GitHub Repository
**Option A: Using GitHub CLI (Recommended)**
```powershell
gh auth login
gh repo create fccs-mcp-ag-server --public --description "Oracle FCCS Agentic MCP Server using Google ADK" --source=. --remote=origin --push
```
**Option B: Using GitHub Web Interface**
1. Go to https://github.com/new
2. Create repository named `fccs-mcp-ag-server`
3. Don't initialize with README (we already have one)
4. Then run:
```powershell
git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/fccs-mcp-ag-server.git
git branch -M main
git add .
git commit -m "Initial commit: Windows deployment ready"
git push -u origin main
```
### 2. Initial Commit
```powershell
# Stage all files
git add .
# Create initial commit
git commit -m "Initial commit: FCCS MCP Agentic Server with Windows deployment support"
# Push to GitHub (after adding remote)
git push -u origin main
```
### 3. First Deployment
```powershell
# Run automated setup
.\setup-windows.bat
# Or manual setup:
python -m venv venv
.\venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1
pip install -e .
# Create .env file (if .env.example exists, copy it)
Copy-Item .env.example .env
notepad .env
# Initialize database (if using PostgreSQL)
python scripts\init_db.py
# Test connection
python scripts\test_connection.py
# Start server
.\start-server.bat
```

## 🔍 Verification
After setup, verify everything works:
1. **Test Connection:**
```powershell
python scripts\test_connection.py
```
2. **Start Server:**
```powershell
.\start-server.bat
```
Then visit: http://localhost:8080
3. **Check Tools:**
Visit: http://localhost:8080/tools
4. **Test MCP Server:**
```powershell
.\start-mcp-server.bat
```

## ⚠️ Important Notes
1. **Environment Variables:** Make sure `.env` file is created and configured before running the server
2. **Database:** PostgreSQL is recommended for production, SQLite works for development
3. **Git:** Don't commit `.env` file - it's in `.gitignore`
4. **Virtual Environment:** Always activate venv before running commands
5. **Python Path:** Ensure Python is in your system PATH
