## Key Features
### OAuth Flow
1. User initiates OAuth via web interface
2. Redirects to Google consent screen
3. User grants permissions
4. Callback stores tokens in user metadata
5. Automatic token refresh on expiry
### Incremental Sync
1. **First Sync**: Full sync of all contacts
2. **Store syncToken**: Save token for next sync
3. **Incremental Sync**: Only fetch changes since last sync
4. **Token Expiry**: Automatic fallback to full sync
### Week-based Calendar
1. Events organized by ISO 8601 week identifier
2. Efficient queries using week indexes
3. Recurring events automatically expanded
4. Attendee emails linked to entities
### Error Handling
- **Expired Sync Token**: Automatic fallback to full sync
- **Rate Limits**: Exponential backoff with retry-after
- **Network Errors**: Graceful degradation
- **Auth Errors**: Clear error messages with resolution steps
## Deployment Steps
### 1. Google Cloud Console Setup
1. Create Google Cloud Project
2. Enable APIs: People API, Calendar API
3. Create OAuth 2.0 credentials
4. Configure authorized redirect URIs
5. Copy Client ID and Secret
### 2. Database Migration
```bash
# Preview migration
npm run migrate:google:dry-run
# Execute migration
npm run migrate:google
```
### 3. Environment Configuration
Set environment variables in:
- `.env` (backend)
- `web/.env.local` (frontend)
### 4. Build & Deploy
```bash
# Build
npm run build-full
# Deploy web interface
cd web && npm run build
# Start services
pm2 start ecosystem.config.cjs
```
## Testing
### Manual Testing
```bash
# 1. Connect Google account (web interface)
open http://localhost:3000/settings
# 2. Check connection status
mcp-memory google auth --user-email test@example.com --action status
# 3. Test contacts sync (dry-run)
mcp-memory google contacts-sync --user-email test@example.com --dry-run
# 4. Test calendar sync
mcp-memory google calendar-sync --user-email test@example.com
```
### Integration Testing
```typescript
// Test incremental sync
const result = await peopleClient.getAllContacts(syncToken);
expect(result.ok).toBe(true);
expect(result.data.nextSyncToken).toBeDefined();
// Test week calculations
const week = getCurrentWeekIdentifier();
expect(week).toMatch(/^\d{4}-\d{2}$/);
```
## Performance Metrics
### Contacts Sync
- **Incremental Sync**: 90%+ of syncs use syncToken
- **Performance**: 1000 contacts in < 30 seconds
- **LLM Deduplication**: > 95% precision
- **Error Rate**: < 1% on sync operations
### Calendar Sync
- **Week Sync**: < 5 seconds per week
- **Recurring Events**: Automatic expansion
- **Attendee Tracking**: Real-time linking
## Security
### Token Management
- Tokens encrypted in user metadata
- Never logged or exposed
