## Technical Implementation Details
### Data Flow
1. **JobNimbus API** → Estimates endpoint
2. **MaterialDataRepository** → Fetch & cache (5-min TTL)
3. **Transform** → EstimateItem[] → MaterialRecord[]
4. **Analyze** → MaterialAnalyzer orchestrates services
5. **Services** → Statistics, Forecasting, Supplier Analysis
6. **Output** → Structured JSON response
### Caching Strategy
- 5-minute TTL cache for estimate data
- Cache key based on date range
- Automatic cleanup of expired entries
- Reduces API calls significantly
### Statistical Methods
- **Mean**: Simple average
- **Median**: Middle value (sorted)
- **Standard Deviation**: √(variance)
- **Percentiles**: Linear interpolation
- **Trend Detection**: Linear regression with 5% threshold
- **Coefficient of Variation**: σ/μ (volatility measure)
### Forecasting Algorithm
1. Calculate linear regression (slope, intercept, std error)
2. Extrapolate for N future periods
3. Generate 95% confidence intervals (±2σ)
4. Alternative: Moving average with configurable window
### Supplier Scoring (0-100)
- **Recency Score**: Based on last purchase date
- ≤30 days: 100
- ≤90 days: 75
- ≤180 days: 50
- ≤365 days: 25
- >365 days: 0
- **Volume Score**: (usage_count / 10) × 100 (max 100)
- **Price Stability**: 100 - (range/max) × 100
- **Overall**: Average of all three
### Reorder Logic
1. Calculate daily usage = monthly avg / 30
2. Adjust for trend:
- Increasing: ×1.5
- Decreasing: ×0.7
- Stable: ×1.0
3. Calculate days of supply available
4. If below threshold → recommend reorder
5. Suggested quantity = daily usage × threshold × trend multiplier
## Error Handling
All tools implement comprehensive error handling using `MaterialAnalysisError`:
- **INVALID_INPUT** - Input validation failed
- **ESTIMATE_NOT_FOUND** - Estimate doesn't exist
- **NO_DATA_AVAILABLE** - No data for analysis
- **INSUFFICIENT_DATA** - Not enough data for statistics
- **CALCULATION_ERROR** - Calculation/analysis failed
- **API_ERROR** - JobNimbus API error
## Performance Optimizations
1. **5-minute caching** - Reduces redundant API calls
2. **Batch fetching** - 100 estimates per request
3. **Safety limits** - Max 50 iterations (5000 estimates)
4. **Efficient aggregation** - Map-based O(n) complexity
5. **Lazy computation** - Only calculate what's requested
## Testing Status
✅ TypeScript compilation: PASSED
✅ All imports resolved correctly
✅ No type errors
✅ Follows existing codebase patterns
