**Exception Hierarchy** (4):

2. `WorkItemNotFoundError` - Work item lookup failed
3. `InvalidDepthError` - Depth validation failed (must be 1-5)
4. `CircularReferenceError` - Parent cannot be descendant
**Performance Targets**:
- ✅ <10ms for 5-level hierarchies (FR-013)
- ✅ <1ms for single work item lookup
- ✅ O(1) for ancestor queries (materialized path)

### Database Migration
