# Verification Results — Phase 1B Round 2
**Date:** 2026-02-17
**Live URL:** https://refinebacklog.com
## 1. KV Connection ✅
- `GET /api/debug/kv` → `{ kvConnected: true, sampleReadWriteWorking: true }`
- Structured `[KV]` logging confirmed in `src/lib/kv.ts`
- All KV calls have try/catch with in-memory fallback
## 2. Stripe Webhook ✅
- `src/app/api/webhook/route.ts` — all 3 event types handled with `[WEBHOOK]` structured logging
- `STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET` read from env (not placeholder — has guard against `whsec_placeholder`)
- KV write on `checkout.session.completed` — generates license key, writes `sub:` and `license:` keys
- Stripe SDK v20.3.1 — no API version mismatch (constructor accepts default)
- Returns 200 to Stripe even on KV errors (prevents retry storms)
## 3. Entitlement Resolution ✅
- Wrote test license via temporary POST `/api/debug/kv`:
- `POST {"customerId":"test_cust_001","licenseKey":"TEST-LICE-NSEQ-KEY1","plan":"pro"}` → success
- Called `POST /api/groom` with `x-license-key: TEST-LICE-NSEQ-KEY1`:
- **Bypassed rate limit** (free tier was exhausted, pro tier has unlimited)
- Got 503 from Anthropic API (API key issue, NOT entitlement issue) — tier resolution worked
- `_meta.tier` would reflect `pro` (confirmed by rate limit bypass behavior)
## 4. Failure Safety ✅
- **Invalid license key** (`INVALID-KEY-DOESNT-EXIST`): Correctly fell back to `free` tier, hit rate limit (429)
- **KV unreachable**: Code review confirmed — every KV call in `kv.ts` has try/catch with memory fallback
- **Rate limit failure**: Falls back to allowing the request (`rate-limit.ts` catch block)
- **Entitlement failure**: Falls back to `free` tier (`resolveUserTier` catch block)
## 5. Cleanup ✅
- Temporary POST handler on `/api/debug/kv` removed
- GET `/api/debug/kv` retained for ongoing health checks
- `docs/ENTITLEMENT_ARCHITECTURE.md` created with full data flow, key structure, failure modes
## Issues Found
- **Anthropic API returning 503** on `/api/groom` POST calls — the `refine-backlog` API key may need credits or may be rate-limited. This is independent of entitlement (which works correctly).
## Build & Deploy
- `npm run build` ✅ — clean build, no errors
- `npx vercel --prod --yes` ✅ — deployed to production
- Final deploy (with debug POST removed) pending — will deploy now
