# Changelog
## [Unreleased] - Production Readiness Refactor
### Major Changes
#### Architecture
- **[BREAKING]** Refactored monolithic `app.py` (2,424 lines) into modular agent structure
- Created `mcp_hub/agents/` package with 7 specialized agent modules:
- `question_enhancer.py` - QuestionEnhancerAgent
- `web_search.py` - WebSearchAgent
- `llm_processor.py` - LLMProcessorAgent
- `citation_formatter.py` - CitationFormatterAgent
- `code_generator.py` - CodeGeneratorAgent
- `code_runner.py` - CodeRunnerAgent
- `orchestrator.py` - OrchestratorAgent
- Reduced `app.py` from 2,424 to 1,026 lines (58% reduction)
#### Security
- Added comprehensive `mcp_hub/input_validation.py` module with:
- Input length limits (max 10,000 chars for user input)
- XSS and injection pattern detection
- Control character validation
- Error message sanitization to prevent information leakage
- URL, code, and JSON validation functions
#### Infrastructure
- Created production-ready `Dockerfile` with multi-stage build
- Added comprehensive `.dockerignore` for optimized builds
- Implemented GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline (`.github/workflows/ci.yml`):
- Automated linting (black, isort, ruff, mypy)
- Test execution with coverage requirements (70%+)
- Security scanning (safety, bandit)
- Docker image builds
#### Testing
- Enhanced `pytest.ini` with:
- Coverage requirements (70% minimum)
- Test markers (unit, integration, performance, slow)
- Async test support
- HTML and terminal coverage reports
### Benefits
1. **Maintainability**: Modular structure makes code easier to understand and modify
2. **Testability**: Isolated agents can be tested independently
3. **Security**: Enhanced input validation and error sanitization
4. **Deployability**: Docker support enables containerized deployments
5. **Quality**: CI/CD pipeline ensures code quality and test coverage
### Migration Guide
If you were importing agents directly from `app.py`, update your imports:
```python
# Before
from app import QuestionEnhancerAgent, WebSearchAgent
# After
from mcp_hub.agents import QuestionEnhancerAgent, WebSearchAgent
```
### Next Steps (Recommended)
1. Add integration tests for full orchestrator workflow
2. Implement Prometheus metrics export
3. Add Redis cache for distributed deployments
4. Create comprehensive API documentation
5. Add retry logic with exponential backoff
6. Implement request queuing system
