### Frontend (`src/`, Vite + React + TS)
- **App shell & routing**
- `main.tsx` mounts `App` with React 18 `StrictMode`.
- `App.tsx` configures `react-router-dom` routes for:
- Public: `/`, `/pricing`, `/login`, `/signup`, `/debug-google-auth`, `/features`, `/documentation`, `/api`, `/blog`, `/careers`, `/contact`, `/help-center`, `/contact-support`, `/status`, `/privacy-policy`.
- Admin (guarded by `PrivateRoute role="admin"`): `/admin`, `/admin/dashboard`, `/admin/tenants`, `/admin/settings`.
- Tenant (guarded by `PrivateRoute role="tenant"`): `/dashboard`, `/knowledge-base`, `/chat-history`, `/live-chat`, `/widget`, `/clients`, `/analytics`, `/settings`.
- Global error / rejection logging in `App` (including filtering noisy MetaMask errors).
- **Authentication & user session**
- `AuthContext` (`src/context/AuthContext.tsx`):
- Stores `user` and `isLoading` in React context.
- Persists user data + `auth-token` in `localStorage` under `mcp-user` / `auth-token`.
- Email/password auth:
- `login(email, password)` → POST to `${VITE_API_URL || mcp-backend worker}/auth/signin`.
- `signupWithEmail(name, email, password, companyName)` → POST to `/auth/signup`.
- Normalizes backend user to frontend `User` type (`id`, `name`, `email`, `role: "tenant"`, `createdAt`).
- Google OAuth:
- Uses `googleAuth` helper (`src/lib/googleAuth.ts`) for real Google sign-in.
- `loginWithGoogle()` / `signupWithGoogle()` call `googleAuth.signIn()` then backend `/auth/google`.
- Stores returned token and normalized user to local storage.
- `logout()` clears Google session via `googleAuth.signOut()` and clears local storage.
- `PrivateRoute` component:
- Wraps children and enforces presence of `user` and matching `role` (tenant/admin).
- **Google auth debugging**
- **`src/pages/GoogleAuthDebug.tsx` (new)**:
- Standalone debug page wired to route `/debug-google-auth`.
- Renders two `GoogleAuthButton` instances:
- Sign-in mode → calls `loginWithGoogle()` on success.
- Sign-up mode → calls `signupWithGoogle()` on success.
- Shows explanatory text and instructs users to inspect browser console for debug info.
- `GoogleAuthButton` (`src/components/GoogleAuthButton.tsx`):
- Initializes Google script via `googleAuth.initialize()`.
- Handles loading states and error display callbacks.
- **Chat and tenant-facing features**
- `useChat` hook (`src/hooks/useChat.ts`):
- Connects to Supabase (`supabase` client from `src/lib/supabase.ts`).
- Fetches chat messages for a given `tenantId` from `chat_messages` table.
- Subscribes to real-time `postgres_changes` on `chat_messages` filtered by `tenant_id`.
- Exposes: `messages`, `loading`, `error`, `sendMessage`, `updateMessageStatus`, `deleteMessage`, `refetch`.
- Various tenant pages (`src/pages/tenant/*`):
- Dashboard, Knowledge Base, Chat History, Widget Customization, Live Chat Test, Clients, Analytics, Settings.
- All wired through routes in `App.tsx` and protected by `PrivateRoute`.
- **UI components & UX**
- Layout & shared components under `src/components/`:
- `Layout`, `layout/*` for consistent page shell.
- `ChatInterface`, `SessionSummaryGenerator`, `MobileOptimizedCard`, `TouchOptimizedButton`, `LoadingSpinner`, `ErrorBoundary`, `OfflineIndicator`, `SuccessAnimation`, `DebugLogger`, `EmptyStates`, etc.
- Design system:
- Tailwind CSS configured via `tailwind.config.js`, `index.css`.
- Radix UI primitives for dialogs, dropdowns, tabs, etc.
- `lucide-react` icons, `framer-motion` animations, `recharts` charts.
- **Static marketing / info pages**
- Implemented pages: `LandingPage`, `PricingPage`, `Features`, `Documentation`, `API`, `Blog`, `Careers`, `Contact`, `HelpCenter`, `ContactSupport`, `Status`, `PrivacyPolicy`, `About` (from `src/pages/*`).
- **Client-side API / integrations**
- `src/lib/api.ts` and `src/config/api.ts`: API base configuration for talking to backend(s).
- `src/lib/pdfExtractor.ts`: PDF text extraction using `pdfjs-dist`.
- `src/lib/supabase.ts`: Supabase client configuration for chat and knowledge base.
- `src/hooks` set for media queries, notifications, offline storage, touch gestures, success animations, and central error handling.

### Node.js Backend (`server/`, Express + SQLite)
- **Server setup (`server/src/server.ts`)**
- Express app with:
- Security: `helmet` (with relaxed CSP for dev), rate-limiting via `express-rate-limit`.
- CORS configured from `config.ALLOWED_ORIGINS`, supports credentials and standard methods/headers.
- JSON / URL-encoded body parsing with `50mb` limit.
- Static file serving for `/uploads`.
- Database:
- `initializeDatabase()` called on startup (SQLite).
- WebSocket:
- `ws` `WebSocketServer` bound to same HTTP server.
- `setupWebSocket(wss)` manages real-time communication.
- Routes mounted:
- `/api/auth` → auth routes.
- `/api/tenants` → tenant CRUD and settings (JWT-protected).
- `/api/knowledge-base` → knowledge base CRUD & uploads (JWT-protected).
- `/api/chat` → chat session + MCP integration (public for widget).
- `/api/analytics` → analytics endpoints (JWT-protected).
- `/api/widget` → embeddable widget config + script (public).
- System endpoints:
- `/health` JSON health check (status/timestamp/version).
- 404 JSON handler for unknown routes.
- **Authentication & users (`server/src/routes/auth.ts`)**
- Email/password sign-up:
- Validation for email/password/name.
- Hashes password with `bcryptjs`.
- Creates user row with `verification_token`.
- Creates default tenant and `user_tenants` mapping with `role='owner'`.
- Issues JWT signed with `JWT_SECRET` (7d expiry).
- Email/password sign-in:
- Validates credentials; compares password hash.
- Loads owner tenant for user and returns JWT + tenant info.
- Google OAuth (`/auth/google`):
- Verifies Google ID token via `google-auth-library` `OAuth2Client`.
- Upserts user with `google_id`, `avatar`, `email_verified`.
- Ensures default tenant / `user_tenants` mapping.
- Issues JWT with tenant context.
- Profile endpoints:
- `/auth/me` (requires JWT) returns user and tenant info.
- `/auth/profile` updates `name` / `avatar`.
- `/auth/logout` is a stateless confirmation (token invalidation left to client/blacklist layer).
- **Tenant management (`server/src/routes/tenants.ts`)**
- `/api/tenants/me`:
- Returns tenant core data and associated domains.
- `/api/tenants/me` (PUT):
- Updates tenant `name` and `settings` JSON.
- Domain management:
- POST `/api/tenants/domains` adds domain (with uniqueness check).
- DELETE `/api/tenants/domains/:domainId` removes domain.
- Embedded analytics summary:
- `/api/tenants/analytics/summary` returns counts for conversations, messages, average rating, and knowledge base document count per tenant.
- **Knowledge base (`server/src/routes/knowledge-base.ts`)**
- Uses `multer` for file uploads with:
- Size limit from `MAX_FILE_SIZE` (default 10MB).
- Allowed types: `.pdf`, `.docx`, `.txt`, `.md`.
- Endpoints:
- GET `/api/knowledge-base/`:
- Lists KB documents for tenant (id, name, type, source, status, size, timestamps).
- POST `/api/knowledge-base/upload`:
- Saves uploaded file to `UPLOAD_DIR`.
- Creates `knowledge_base` DB entry with `status='processing'` and analytics event.

- Registers website source as KB entry with `type='website'` and `status='processing'`.
- DELETE `/api/knowledge-base/:documentId`:
- Deletes DB row and associated uploaded file.
- PUT `/api/knowledge-base/:documentId/status`:
- Updates document processing `status`.
- GET `/api/knowledge-base/:documentId`:
- Returns full document record with parsed `metadata`.
- **Chat sessions & MCP AI (`server/src/routes/chat.ts`)**
- Authenticated sessions (`/api/chat/sessions`, JWT):
- Creates chat session for tenant dashboard with domain & userAgent, logs analytics.
- Public widget sessions (`/api/chat/public/sessions`):
- For widget-initiated chats; creates session via tenantId/domain/userAgent.
- Messaging:
- POST `/api/chat/messages`:
- Validates `sessionToken`, `message`, `tenantId`.
- Persists user message in `chat_messages`.
- Fetches full chat history + active KB entries.
- Calls external MCP server at `${MCP_SERVER_URL}/chat` with message, history, and KB context.
- Persists AI response and logs analytics; provides fallback response if MCP is unavailable.
- GET `/api/chat/sessions/:sessionToken/history`:
- Returns message history and session metadata (resolved, rating).
- POST `/api/chat/sessions/:sessionToken/rate`:
- Stores rating/feedback and logs analytics.
- POST `/api/chat/sessions/:sessionToken/end`:

- Returns daily aggregates (count, avg_rating, resolution_rate) for configurable period (`1d`, `7d`, `30d`).
- `/api/analytics/chat-history`:
- Paginated conversation list with filters for resolved/unresolved status.
- `/api/analytics/top-questions`:
- Aggregates most frequent user messages.
- `/api/analytics/sentiment`:
- Simulated sentiment breakdown using session-level stats (positive/neutral/negative percentages).
- **Widget system (`server/src/routes/widget.ts`)**
- `/api/widget/config/:tenantId`:
- Returns merged default + custom widget configuration from `widget_configs` table.
- `/api/widget/script/:tenantId`:
- Returns embeddable JavaScript snippet that:
- Renders a floating chat button and chat window.
- Initializes a chat session via `/api/chat/sessions`.
- Sends messages to `/api/chat/messages`.
- Manages basic UI state (typing indicator, scroll).
- **Middleware & DB**
- `middleware/auth.ts`:
- `authenticateToken` reads JWT from `Authorization` header and attaches `userId`/`tenantId` to request.
- `middleware/errorHandler.ts`:
- Central error-handling middleware returning JSON errors.
- `db/database.ts`:
- SQLite connection + helpers (`get`, `run`, `query`) and schema initialization for users, tenants, chat, KB, analytics, widget config.

### Cloudflare Worker MCP Backend (`mcp-backend/`)
- **`src/index.ts` Cloudflare Worker**
- General:
- CORS handling for `GET/POST/PUT/PATCH/DELETE/OPTIONS` with `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`.
- Root `/` endpoint returns API metadata and available endpoints.
- `/health` endpoint returns simple status + timestamp.
- Supabase integration:
- Uses `@supabase/supabase-js` with currently hard-coded `SUPABASE_URL`, `SUPABASE_ANON_KEY`, and `SUPABASE_SERVICE_KEY` for admin operations.
- Admin client bypasses RLS to manage tenant and KB data.
- Chat endpoints (`/api/chat`):
- GET: returns full `chat_messages` list ordered by `created_at`.
- POST: validates `message` and `user_id`, inserts message into `chat_messages`, and returns created row.
- Auth endpoints:
- POST `/auth/signup`: mock sign-up creating in-memory-style user + client-side token (no persistent DB).
- POST `/auth/signin`: mock sign-in returning generated token and user payload.
- MCP process endpoint (`/mcp/process`):
- Accepts `query`, `sessionId`, `userId`.
- Loads active knowledge base entries from Supabase `knowledge_base` table.
- Builds context object with knowledge base metadata and user session info.
- Implements rule-based AI-like responses:
- Greetings, document listings, specific document summary/preview, help/pricing/integration responses, and generic fallback when no KB.
- Knowledge base endpoints (`/api/knowledge-base`):
- GET: Lists all KB rows; detects missing table (`42P01`/`1016`), returning `setupRequired` flag with suggested SQL file.
- POST: Creates KB entry, auto-creating a default tenant if necessary; handles missing table setup errors.
- PATCH: Updates status/content of KB entries by `id`.
- DELETE: Removes KB entries by `id`, with special handling when table is missing.
- File upload simulation (`/api/upload`):
- Validates `multipart/form-data` content type.
- Returns simulated `uploadId` and `status='processing'` for now.
- Analytics mock endpoints:
- `/api/analytics/metrics` and `/api/analytics/chat-history` return placeholder metric structures.

### Gemini MCP Server (`gemini-mcp-server/`, Python + FastAPI)
- **FastAPI service (`app.py` + helpers)**
- Exposes MCP-style endpoints (per `README.md` and `README_HF_SPACES.md`):
- `/mcp/health` – health check.
- `/mcp/process` – processes single query with `query`, `user_id`, `priority`.
- `/mcp/batch` – batch processing of multiple queries.
- `/mcp/capabilities` – returns server capabilities.
- Integrates with Google Gemini via `GEMINI_API_KEY`.
- Optional DB integration via `DATABASE_URL` (default SQLite) for chat history/analytics.
- **Deployment tooling**
- Dockerfile + `DEPLOYMENT.md` for Hugging Face Spaces and other Docker targets.
- `requirements.txt` pinning FastAPI, Uvicorn, and Gemini-related dependencies.
- `env.example` for environment variable templates.
- `test_api.py` with HTTP-level tests for health and core endpoints.
---
### RAG Backend (`rag-backend/`)
- **Current state**
- Directory structure present under `rag-backend/app` (`billing`, `db`, `middleware`, `models`, `rag`, `utils`) plus `data/` and `scripts/`.
- Python bytecode caches exist but **no `.py` source files are present in the workspace**, indicating:
- Either source files are omitted from this snapshot, or
- The RAG backend implementation is incomplete/missing in this repository state.
- SQLite / Chroma artifacts present under `rag-backend/data/vectordb/`, suggesting a prior RAG pipeline was run, but code is not currently available to inspect.
---
### Project Root / Tooling
- **Root configuration**
- `package.json`:
- Scripts: `dev` (Vite), `build` (Vite), `lint` (ESLint), `preview` (Vite preview).
- Dependencies: React 18, React Router, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, Supabase client, Google APIs, Razorpay, pdfjs, Recharts, Zod, etc.
- Dev tooling: Vite 5, TypeScript 5, ESLint 9, Tailwind, PostCSS, Autoprefixer.
- TypeScript configs: `tsconfig.json`, `tsconfig.app.json`, `tsconfig.node.json`.
- Vite config: `vite.config.ts` (React plugin, aliasing `@` to `src`, etc.).
- Lint config: `eslint.config.js`.
- **Additional docs**
- Root `README.md` describes full intended feature set (frontend, backend, Gemini MCP, deployment instructions).
- `server/README_HF_SPACES.md` and `gemini-mcp-server/README_HF_SPACES.md` describe Hugging Face Spaces deployment for Node backend and Gemini MCP server.
