Inspect

Apply one reversible musical operation to an owned score at its exact saved revision. Stale revisions and invalid note/mark IDs are rejected. No supplier processing or credits are used.

operation is one object naming its action, e.g. {"action":"set_pitch","note_ids":["n…"],"pitch":62}; the operation field lists every action and its fields. A pitch named without its octave ("make it C") is the one nearest the note's current pitch (B4 -> C5, not C4), in the direction asked if any; say the pitch written.

Re-engraving and whole-score rhythm operations replace note IDs; the returned state is the new revision.

export_scoreExport scoreInspect

Export one immutable score revision. Returns file metadata, a scoped expiring download URL and a resource link. Deliver a file through a host-presented attachment, otherwise the prepared panel's Download menu; never paste or rebuild download_url in chat, and a resource link does not prove receipt. Formats: musicxml, midi, pdf, layout_pdf, mxl, wav, mp3, pages, parts, jianpu, jianpu_melody, jianpu_fixed, jianpu_voices, jianpu_fixed_voices, abc, mei, tab_text, original_pdf, original_scores, original_midi, original_musicxml, provider_evidence, editing_copy. editing_copy is the current MusicXML for your own round of edits saved back to the same score, on any score; it is not a download for the user; fetch it only to edit, once per round. A free score (access.open false) refuses musicxml, mxl, midi, abc, mei and the MIDI/MusicXML originals with locked=true until the user agrees to unlock it, and its PDFs and page images carry a small footer line; MP3/WAV are free. pdf follows the saved notation view; layout_pdf is staff. Parts shown as guitar TAB (set_tablature) appear in pdf, pages and parts, and musicxml/mxl carry their TAB staff for Guitar Pro or MuseScore; tab_text is plain-text TAB (one line per string, bars between |) returned in text to show in the chat, for the TAB parts or else the guitars and basses; part_id picks one part. Mirelo's original tablature PDFs (original_pdf) fret the written guitar pitch, so their guitar TAB can sit an octave high; prefer tab_text or pdf for guitar TAB. Numbered notation supports movable/fixed do, melody and voice variants. part_id selects a part; parts bundles staff formats for 1–32 bound parts. MIDI/audio require complete performance bindings; MP3/WAV synthesize score playback, not original separated stems. Supplier originals preserve original bytes and exclude later edits; unavailable originals remain unavailable, without new supplier calls.

get_pro_instrument_reviewChoose band instruments
Idempotent
Inspect

Read a pending Pro upload's instrument review. start=false reads only; start=true requests official free instrument detection. Replay-only jobs always use saved evidence and never contact the supplier. Candidates are suggestions rather than a complete inventory; replay_candidates specify actual saved instruments, processing options, duration and source job. Busy detection reports a bounded retry delay. This operation never starts paid transcription.

ParametersJSON Schema

get_scoreRead score
Read-only
Inspect

Read the authoritative score revision, notation settings, annotations, marks and requested notes. With no filters, returns a bounded overview: settings, revision and undo state, the pending suggestion, recent comments, per-part note counts and totals of notes, marks by kind, harmonies, dynamics and notation issues, without their lists. Filters list one scope: stable note_ids, part_id, measure (one bar, or a range such as 5-8, as numbered in the score), staff, voice, offset and limit (notes per page, default 100, maximum 200); next_offset continues the notes. With part_id or measure, the first page (offset 0) also lists that scope's marks, harmonies and dynamic marks (up to 200 each with their totals; narrow by part_id or measure for more); with note_ids, the marks on those notes and the harmonies and dynamics of their bars; a page of the whole score lists notes only. The notation check lists issues with their note IDs. Sounding pitch differs only for transposing instruments. Performance timing comes from bound MIDI events; notation estimates are not precise audio alignment. Mark objects have stable IDs, kinds, locations and anchors. Structural findings do not establish transcription accuracy. Notes come as rows under note_columns; the name Rest identifies a rest; pitch=null can also indicate an unpitched percussion note. staff and onset (quarters from the start of the bar) locate each note or rest. settings.tablature lists each pitched part's guitar TAB: kind (guitar, bass, ukulele or null), view (off, both, tab), tuning and capo; a page with notes of parts shown as TAB adds the columns string (1 is the top line), fret, string_chosen and tab_issue.

listen_scoreListen to bars
Read-only
Inspect

Listen to up to 16 bars of a recording-based score against its own recording, for checks you cannot hear yourself. A second transcription engine re-hears that stretch; per bar and beat it lists notes heard that the score does not write (often missed notes), written notes not heard (sometimes extra or wrong notes) and notes heard at an overtone of a written one (usually its partials). Leads to weigh with the score's own patterns, not verdicts; preview note changes. Use it where the score's text or picture looks suspicious: a figure breaking off, a stray note, a phrase thinner than its returns. With several parts it hears their mix: part (id or name) limits written-not-heard notes to one part, and heard_near says which other parts write what was heard instead. Not for written music or drums. About a second of server work, no credits; changes nothing.

revise_scoreSave edited notationInspect

Save an edited copy of an existing score as the next revision of the SAME score: its recording, playback comparison, comments, open panel and undo history stay. Never create a new score to change an existing one. Use it for any change a single score edit cannot make, such as moving notes between staves, hands or voices, deleting a misheard voice, correcting many pitches, adding notes, rhythm spelling, ties, beams or marks: export this revision as MusicXML, edit that file keeping each note's id attribute, and pass it as file (a MusicXML or MXL attachment) or as musicxml text. A note keeps its played timing whatever its written rhythm, staff or voice; a changed pitch plays at the new pitch, a removed note stops sounding, and a note without an existing id is added to the playing where it is written (inside the recording's length). Parts stay the same. Without the exported IDs only notation changes that keep every pitch are accepted. preview=true creates a suggestion for the user to Apply or Discard.

  • ScanSing reads printed sheet music. Give Claude a PDF or a photo of a score and it gets back MusicXML, the format MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale and Dorico open. It is the recogniser inside the ScanSing app for choir singers, offered as a connector. Once a score is recognised, Claude can answer questions about it without recognising it again: - what the key, time signature, tempo and length are, and each part's range, clefs and lyrics; - one voice on its own, for example just the alto line of a choir piece; - the score or a part moved to another key, with notes respelled for the new key signature; - a MIDI file, one track per part, to listen to or rehearse with; - a short-lived download link to open the result in a browser or notation app. It handles PDFs up to 40 pages and PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP images, can recognise selected pages of a long PDF, and can split a songbook into one MusicXML per piece. A file can be given as a web link or a small image; in Claude Code, a file on your computer is sent through a one-time upload link. Recognition spends pages from your ScanSing plan, so it is the only tool that is not read-only. Everything else works on the stored result and is free. The first connection with a new email comes with 20 free pages; paid plans start at $9 a month for 300 pages. Scores and results are deleted about an hour after recognition and are never used for training.

  • Write lyrics in 100+ styles, score them, generate full songs with 4 engines, split stems. OAuth.

  • Read-only music guides, chord transposition, piano chord spelling and guitar-tab pitch mapping.
