This is my MCP server for tracking daily expenses — built using FastMCP! It helps me store, manage, and analyze my spending in a simple and beginner-friendly way. 🚀

Add a new expense with: • 📅 Date • 💵 Amount • 🏷️ Category • 🔖 Subcategory • 📝 Note

❌ Delete Expenses

Remove any saved expense instantly.

✏️ Update Expenses

Edit or update older expenses anytime.

📄 List All Expenses

View all your expenses or filter by a date range.

🧮 Calculate Total Expense

Get: • Total money spent • Total spent in a specific category

🎯 Filter by Category

See all expenses in one category like: • 🍔 Food • 🚌 Travel • 🛍️ Shopping and more!

🛠️ How It Works • Uses a SQLite database • Built with FastMCP which allows creating tools that any MCP-compatible app can use • You can connect to this server from your device using a remote MCP connector

📘 How to Use This MCP Server on Your Device (Beginner-Friendly)

Follow these steps and it will work smoothly 👇

🧩 Step 1 — Install Claude Desktop

Download Claude Desktop (supports MCP connectors). After installation → open Claude.

⚙️ Step 2 — Open MCP Settings

Go to: Settings → MCP This is where connectors are added.

➕ Step 3 — Add New Connector

Click Add New Connector

You will see: • Connector Type • Connector Path / URL

Choose MCP Remote Server (or similar) Paste this URL:

Click Save.

🤖 Step 4 — Start Using Tools

Claude will automatically connect to the server.

You will see tools like: • add_expense • update_expense • delete_expense • list_expenses • calculate_total • filter_by_category

Now you can ask Claude things like: • “Add a new expense for 200 rupees on Food” • “Show total spent this month” • “Delete the travel expense on this date”

Everything works because your Claude is linked to my MCP server 🎉

🎯 Why I Built This

I wanted: • a simple way to track my money • to learn how MCP works • to deploy my own MCP app

So I created this project and published it online 🚀
