Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| IMAP_MCP_SECRET_KEY | Yes | Secret key used to encrypt mailbox and SMTP passwords (generate with `imap-mcp gen-secret-key`; keep a copy). | |
| IMAP_MCP_ALLOWED_CLIENT_IPS | No | Optional; limit `/mcp` to Anthropic's published outbound IP range. | |
| IMAP_MCP_ADMIN_PASSWORD_HASH | Yes | Owner password hash used for OAuth sign-in and the admin page (generate with `imap-mcp hash-password`). |
