NameDescription
crypto_sentimentA
Current news sentiment for one crypto ticker. Paid: $0.01 in USDC on Base
per call, from this MCP server's own CDP wallet.

symbol must be exactly one of the 24 uppercase tickers from
list_supported_coins (e.g. BTC). Lowercase ("btc") or any other symbol is
rejected by the input schema before a request is sent, so nothing is
charged.

Scores headlines from the last 72 hours across 9 crypto news RSS outlets
(VADER plus a crypto slang lexicon, weighted toward the newest) alongside
the Fear & Greed Index. Returns a bullish/bearish/neutral label, a
compound score (-1 to 1), sample sizes, the news and Fear & Greed values,
and up to 5 headlines that moved the score.

Low-coverage coins: when recent headlines are too few (effective sample
size below 5), the API refuses with HTTP 422 "insufficient recent news",
returned here as an error with charged: false. archive_coverage shows each
coin's coverage_7d_pct. Without CDP keys the tool returns a no-wallet
message and pays nothing. For past readings use get_hourly_history.
get_hourly_historyA
Past hourly sentiment readings for one coin, oldest first. Paid: $0.05 in
USDC on Base per call, from this MCP server's own CDP wallet.

Range: omit both bounds for the 7 days up to now. With only end, the range
starts 7 days before it; with only start, it runs to now. A reading is
included when start <= observed_at < end. The span can be at most 30 days,
so split longer periods into several calls. Readings are recorded live at
the top of each UTC hour and never backfilled; a missed hour stays missing.

Refused and not charged (returned as an error with charged: false):
- 400: malformed symbol or time, start not before end, or a span over 30 days.
- 404: symbol not in the archive.
- 404 no_readings_in_range: no readings in the range (gives first_reading).
- 404 no_headlines_in_range: every hour in the range had zero matching
  headlines (gives rows_in_range and coverage_7d_pct).
A range with at least one hour of headlines returns all its rows.

For low-coverage coins, check archive_coverage first: its coverage_7d_pct
and first_reading show where data exists. Without CDP keys the tool returns
a no-wallet message and pays nothing. For the current reading use
crypto_sentiment.
list_supported_coinsA
Free: list the 24 ticker symbols crypto_sentiment supports, with names.

Useful before choosing a symbol for crypto_sentiment or price_quote.
No wallet needed and no network call. Any other symbol is rejected by
those tools' input schema before a request is sent, so nothing is
charged.
archive_coverageA
Free: what the hourly sentiment archive holds (GET /archive). No wallet
needed.

Per symbol: first and latest reading, row counts, missing hours, and
coverage_7d_pct, the share of the last 7 days' logged hours that had at
least one matching headline (with hours_with_headlines_7d and
hours_logged_7d). Check it before get_hourly_history to pick a symbol and
range with data: low-coverage coins often get no_headlines_in_range from
get_hourly_history or "insufficient recent news" from crypto_sentiment,
both refused and not charged.
price_quoteA
Free: the live x402 price of one crypto_sentiment call, read from an
unpaid request's 402 response. Nothing is signed; no wallet needed.

When not to use it: prices are fixed at $0.01 per crypto_sentiment call
and $0.05 per get_hourly_history call, so there's no need to call this
before every paid call. Use it to confirm the live price and payment
requirements, e.g. before funding a wallet. It quotes crypto_sentiment
only.

symbol must be exactly one of the 24 uppercase tickers from
list_supported_coins; lowercase or any other symbol is rejected by the
input schema before a request is sent. A low-coverage coin still gets a
quote; a crypto_sentiment call for it may then be refused with
"insufficient recent news" (not charged).

TDQS

A4.6/5.0

Scored across 5 tools

Disambiguation5/5

Each tool has a clearly distinct role: current sentiment, historical readings, supported ticker listing, archive metadata, and live price quoting. The descriptions explicitly clarify boundaries, especially between crypto_sentiment and get_hourly_history and between archive_coverage and list_supported_coins.

Naming Consistency3/5

The set mixes verb_noun names like get_hourly_history and list_supported_coins with noun-only or noun_noun names like crypto_sentiment, archive_coverage, and price_quote. It remains readable, but there is no single predictable pattern across all five tools.

Tool Count5/5

Five tools is well-scoped for a focused sentiment API: one paid current-reading tool, one paid history tool, and three lightweight supporting tools. Each tool earns its place without obvious redundancy.

Completeness4/5

The surface covers the core lifecycle well: discover supported coins, check archive coverage, fetch current sentiment, fetch historical readings, and confirm pricing. Minor gaps exist, such as price_quote covering only crypto_sentiment and no dedicated Fear & Greed or raw-headline lookup, but these are workable around and not central to the domain.
