# ClickContext MCP Server

**The Shopify MCP server for behavioral data.** Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible client to your Shopify store's real visitor behavior — clicks, scrolls, funnels, cart events, and revenue — and ask why customers aren't buying, in plain English.

ClickContext is a **hosted (remote) MCP server**. You install the [ClickContext app](https://apps.shopify.com/clickcontext) on your Shopify store, and it serves your behavioral data to your AI assistant over the Model Context Protocol. There is nothing to self-host.

## What it does

Every storefront event is captured with product, variant, and revenue context, then served to your assistant through 37 read-mostly MCP tools, grouped by job:

- **Triage** — where to look first (CRO overview, top issues, opportunity sizing)
- **Funnel & conversion** — where visitors drop out and what it costs
- **Page & element diagnostics** — clicks, rage/dead clicks, forms, Core Web Vitals, JS errors
- **Products & discovery** — per-product behavior, catalog, on-site search
- **Sessions** — individual journeys and AI-written summaries
- **Change measurement** — before/after a deploy
- **Custom events** — track anything the standard schema doesn't cover

It also exposes 21 ready-made CRO playbooks as MCP resources.

### Claude (OAuth)

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste:

Claude discovers the rest and asks for a six-digit connection code, which you generate in **Apps → Click Context** in your Shopify admin.

### ChatGPT

Developer mode → add an MCP server with URL:

Use OAuth with empty client credentials, then enter the six-digit code. Requires a paid ChatGPT plan.

### Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, Windsurf (API key)

Generate an API key in **Apps → Click Context**, then add the server to your client's MCP config (shape varies per client — see the docs):

## Privacy

EU-hosted. Integrates with Shopify's Customer Privacy API. Form-field values, payment details, customer PII, and session video are never collected. Merchant data is deleted within 48 hours of app uninstall. Details: https://clickcontext.com/docs/privacy
