Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| FCP_MCP_INDEX | No | Set to off to disable the analysis cache. Nothing depends on it; every tool still answers, only slower. | |
| FCP_WATCH_DIR | No | Directory watched for the operator's Cmd-E export, as an alternative to running `watch_start` once per session. | |
| FCP_MCP_AUTOPUSH | No | Set to 1 to automatically push the generated timeline into Final Cut Pro instead of calling `deliver.push_to_fcp` explicitly. | |
| FCP_PROJECTS_DIR | Yes | Directory that holds your Final Cut Pro projects/exports, e.g. ~/Movies. Passed in every documented configuration as `-e FCP_PROJECTS_DIR=~/Movies` or under `env` in `.mcp.json` / `claude_desktop_config.json`. |
