Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

ELABFTW_MCP_AI_KEYNoAPI key for the OpenAI-compatible AI endpoint used by review_experiment, suggest_tags and suggest_metadata.
ELABFTW_MCP_CONFIGNoPath to the configuration file (config.example.yml → config.yml); everything can be overridden by environment variables.
ELABFTW_MCP_AI_MODELNoModel used for the AI tools (OpenAI-compatible chat-completions endpoint). Without a key the AI tools answer with the upstream placeholder wording instead of failing.
