Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MCP_DATA_DIR | No | Root folder that filesystem tools are allowed to reach. Defaults to the home directory ($HOME, or %USERPROFILE% on Windows). Set it to start with a different root, e.g. MCP_DATA_DIR=/other/path npm start. Beyond this root, ~/.aki and ~/.claude are also granted. | |
| PUBLIC_ORIGIN | No | Optional non-default variable from .env, used when exposing the server through an owned public origin instead of Tailscale Funnel. | |
| GROK_CALLBACK_PREFIX | No | Allowlisted prefix for Grok's OAuth redirect_uri (its real callback is https://grok.com/connectors-oauth-exchange-code/). Only needed if Grok changes that callback and registration is rejected. |
